I am seriously considering to buy this sabre. Military Heritage Canada and Mc. Farthingbowl's from Belgium both have it. www.re-enactmentshop.com/webshop/napoleonic-wars/weapons-accessories/95th-rifles-regimental-pattern-sabre-1803-1821?page=0,1 Mc. F. told me the blade thickness under the guard is 6 mm. That sounds promising and may point in the direction of Universal swords. But for the rest? Nobody talks about it. Who makes this thing really? Why the dead silence? Is it just a pot metal hilted wall hanger? Before I spend my Euro 200 I would like to know what I am getting into. Does any of you have any info? Cheers.

Judging from who sells them, I wouldn't be surprised it is a sword-looking crowbar. The positive thing is it doesn't seem to be too long so perhaps the smaller size could mean it handles ok.

It's probably 4 or 5mm at the point, so a iron bar.
I've given up on finding a decent replica military sword.
It looks like it's either antique or custom made that are the only real options.

As Military Heritage/Discriminating General has disavowed any association with Weapon Edge, Universal would be the most likely source. I've not gone through either parent shop's catalogues but that might be telling. To be honest, I lean towards Weapon Edge but then there is the counter claim by the Canadians.
