So, Larian studios..Makers of Divinity games put out a teaser on their website today. Of course it was assumed to be Divinity: Original Sin 3
However someone did some digging through the XML and this pops up.
I uhm, can't really contain my excitement right now, if anyone could pull this off it's Larian Studios, Wizards of the coast have a horrible track record with who they allow to make games with their licence, but this could finally be it.
Best news of my entire gaming life, brb while I listen to this on repeat until release.

I can't bring myself to hope too much, but holy smokes That is potentially the coolest news! Yeah there is some sense of...So much can go wrong.. But if I would chose any developer do take on a project like this, Larian would be exactly that developer.
Just hope Wizards of the coast don't try to dictate things too much, they tend to make things worse the more they are involved, games wise.
I'm really curious what timeline it would be, it can't really be a direct sequel focusing on the same protagonist as BG2, since Abdel Adrian, which is the lore representation of that character died in 1479DR, so his story is kinda told and done.
Also I want Minsc and boo back, which there actually is possible precedence for, since he "came back" when some wild magic turned a statue of him into actually him and boo in 1480s, so many possibilities!

I am... cautiously optimistic, let's say. One thing I have to say excites me so far... The city layout just from the overview shot in the beginning trailer..
It's pretty much 1:1 with lore and how Baldur's gate is..Down to the docks arching out the way they do.
You got Ramazith's tower up there behind the inner gates, The High hall even further out, Seatower of Balduran of course, the little outlier where Water Queen's house is, it's all there..At least they seem to be respecting source material so far.
Larian are the one studio I trust to do it right, the only ones who can muck it up would be Wotc themselves trying to control too much, they're not very good at that.
Edit: Just saw the Sorcerous Sundries as well, right of the closest gate a bit, blue domed building..Hnng...The detail
