A question for those of you with knowledge of southeast Asian blades ( Timo Nieminen):
This blade was recently for sale on Ebay, advertised as an "Antique Indonesian/Malayan Golok". When I look at this weapon, my first thought is Philippine Garab knife. What are your thoughts?

Yes, I have a TFW Talibong and this looks like a scaled down version of that weapon. But my impression is that this would be a pretty small example of a Talibong, with an 11 inch blade. TFW makes a Garab knife that is very similar in size and appearance to this blade.

There are a few sizes mentioned at that link, one even smaller. Like many of the little punale, perhaps they better fall into the tourist classification. I forget the exact timeline but size regulations came in across the islands some time in the 20th century. Some of the little ones still perfectly functional but scaled down, particularly after WWII.
Timo will no doubt be around to see this.

It's a garab. But since "garab" is just the subset of talibong with this trilobate flower hilt, it's also a talibong.
Might be made for the tourist market - the smaller ones often are.
