Hi all, i just received my latest auction find, listed as "mid 19th century sabre", se photos. I bought it believing that it was a Swedish m1831 can someone confirm? The only stamps i find are the ones posted. Thanks

I'm fairly sure you're right, that looks like other swedish artillery sabers I've seen for sale.

Thanks, yes. It has its flaws, a small crack in the scabbard among other things but it's in a really good condition, i payed about 170 euros and i'm happy with that.

Yup, it's a Swedish 1831 Mounted Artillery saber. I wrote a piece about this model a while ago hereGood find (esp. for 170 EU)! My own example is massive (~36in blade give or take) yet it's surprisingly light and nimble. I have never encountered anything else that handles quite like it.
