Yeah, I know, but has someone handeld both to compare? I've read here that the Windlass1860 repro is better in handling than the 1840 but that's not true for my CS and the Windlass Officers. The Officers would be a little bit better but the bad grip equals this. I think the sharp designed blade of the CS makes a better mass distribution because of less mass in the foible.

The windlass actually has "Cold Steel" stamped on the tang. I believe Dave Kelly has them both in one of his old reviews. Yeah, The 1860 officers would be a great sabre if not for the wimpy grip.
