I need some help/advise I placed an order for 3 items and had a problem with all of them: 1. Battlecry Gladius: first the chape was completely off and unattached when I received it, and the blade itself is just a dull flat black...not the speckled appearance that it showed here... www.museumreplicas.com/battlecry-centurion-gladiusDoes anyone habe a “Battlecry” item? And what does the blade look like? I spoke to 3 people (Leshawn, Mia, and Sharon) there and they said to send it back and they would send me one from a “fresh batch” and would inspect it before it went out. I I returned the first one that I had gotten, and received a new one today, it was never opened the tape is still fresh on the box, and the blade was still a dull flat black. 2. Steampunk Octopus Pin: Just never received this. 3. Octopus Secret Trinket Box: One of the arms was broken off, and I had to fix it with crazy glue

I don’t have the Battlecry Gladius but of the four Gladiuses that I’ve heard about all were blacked and not the speckled finish as is on other Battlecry swords.
Did you receive a shipping confirmation on the Octopus Pin?
I’ve found that MRL will bend over backwards to please. The two complaints that I had were a smelly jewellery box and a coif. The box was made of bones and stunk. I ordered the coif in size medium or small and it came marked as such but was a mile to large, obviously mismarked. In both cases rather than pay for international shipping I was told to keep them as a gift. I gave the box away, it smelt like a dead animal and I noticed that they pulled their ad shortly afterwards. The coif is still in the wrapper in my closet. It's nice coif but no way in the world can I wear it.

I just resolved the problem with the pin, they will send me a new one. You might be referring to the other post I made about the finish.

My Battlecry Agincourt has the marble pattern coating, my Centurion (not Battlecry) Gladius has a black or dark grey patina. Didn't find pictures that are not from the company's sites, on some it seems to have the marble pattern on others only plain black.

This is the information that I’ve been trying to get for weeks...I think a bad batch of the Gladius came from India without the marble appearance , I don’t want it this way I’m going to send it back to MLR. Can you tell me how the marbled appearance was done on the Agincourt was done? Is it just scuffing or paint or stain?

I said of the four Gladius I heard about all had a black finish and not marbled or speckled as you called it at first. The finish on the Agincourt is not painted on but is a process unknown to me but similar to bluing, although marbled in appearance. It is durable and hard to scratch.

The Agincourt has a very smooth thin coating like laquer, perhaps sprayed, the marble effect is somehow in the laquer, dunno.

I do not have a battle cry sword but I remember seeing a photo somewhere of one with just a plain black finish. I too wonder exactly what the finish is on those swords ?
And I thought there was no crying in battle anyway
