Introduction:
Hello again. It's everybody's (if you know what's good for you)favorite Global Mod....you know, me, Adrian, back to give you a peek at another lovely blade. Today it's a sweet little EDC fixed blade made by Wes Beem of Lonely Wolf Forge. I'd seen some of similar design that he'd made and wanted one for myself, so I got one. True story.
Full Disclaimer:
I've known Wes for quite a while, and have done business with him before. I have no stake in his business dealings beyond hoping that he does well.
I paid for this knife.
I never got around to picking either Team Edward or Team Jacob. Never read the books, never watched the movies. Thoughts?

First Impressions:
Waaay nicer than I had planned, hahaha.
Blade:
The blade is made of 1070 and has a nice drop point shape. It is DH, and so has a hamon. It is 3 and 1/2" long, which is right where I like it for these little EDC's. It has a full flat grind. The edge easily passes the paper cutting test. I elected to have a fairly basic finish. Wes can procure the services of a friend who can provide more elaborate, fancy and high falutin polishes, but I like it just fine the way it is.
Handle:
The handle is 4" in length. It is full tang and features Redwood Burl scales held on by epoxy and brass pins. Fitment of the scales to the tang is nice and clean. Now, I had originally asked for some really tame, dark, mono colored scales. Wood, micarta, whatever. A few days later I got a vague message from Wes saying only "You got upgraded." When I got the knife and took it out I saw what he was talking about. Hot damn, look at those things. They literally look like they're on fire. A kind of cool aside: I live in a place called Humboldt County in Northern California. We're surrounded by Redwood trees. It's one of the very few aspects of this area that is truly outstanding. We have some of the biggest, oldest Redwoods on Earth here. I don't think Wes knew that, but it is kind of a cool coincidence.
Handling:
The POB is about an inch into the handle. It has a nice, fairly neutral feel.
Final Thoughts:
It's a pretty kickass little knife. I have a real soft spot for these small fixed blade knives. I think Wes nailed it with the scales, too. As mentioned, I've bought from Wes before, likewise a small DH EDC. Here's a couple of pictures of them together. I think you can see a nice progression in his work.
Wes is easy to work with, and will keep you as updated as you'd like during his work. I continue to recommend is services.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, and feel free to comment or ask questions.
