That was a comparison of the normal sized historical sword type (Knud) next to the one designed for the movie (Ulvbane). The Ulvbane is a big sword for sure. It actually handles better than the Museum Line Saint Maurice......lol wish i kept mine and had it transformed into that ol' two-handed fantasy viking imagination... ;-) I have thought about having the grip shortened on mine. Not sure the blade could be shortened unless you lost the etching to make it a longer grip or shorter blade.....

I could see shortening the grip, but shortening the blade seems like it would be an odd decision when then Knud is out there

When I saw the title of this post, I thought, "Oh, great - another anal-retentive buyer. But I was very wrong. I have three peened Windlass swords, and ALL have a peen that is superior to the OP's Albion. The rest of that Albion is also somewhat lacking - for a $1,200 sword. I must add that many sword companies, Windlass in particular, have dramatically increased the quality of their wares in the past couple of years. I have two Del Tins which are excellent, yet only cost $220 and $510 respectively. I believe that's why high end sword sales are dropping, as per an editorial on this web site; it's not that high priced swords are not as good, but that lower priced swords have become so much better than they used to be.

Thank you for the information. I have just started buying swords in the past few years (researching for much longer), so my expectations for Windlass/Albion follow that experience. I've been very pleased with my Windlass purchases for the price, though I haven't really put them through their paces or verified durability. I've been very pleased with two of my owned Albions (Hersir and Norman), but this last one was a little surprising.
Thanks again.
