Hi, I got a blade osoraku shape (no nihonto - longquan). I'm planning koshirae now. For now; I decided to do it in aikuchi. Fittings will be combined; exotic wood merbau + copper : flower shaped. Habaki with mount Fuji motif. Tsuka Simple, full wrap with tsukagawa. Kurikata of exotic wood. Some menuki... Saya finished? I don’ t know yet... Any ideas and suggestions will be welcome. thx Sorry for this drawing, it's just working - draft. Fuchi and koiguchi, in fact, will be mounted at a different angle. I love that shape. In my opinion the form has so much going on that its better to keep the mounts conservative.

Hi, hm, I agree that it could be traditionally, but I have some traditional bindings and this vision keeps me. At the most - if it will not be ok - I will change it. I assumed that I would do koshirae from the materials that I have in the workshop. Have you seen, maybe my earlier project? There are 5 threads, each stage of work, also. sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/56583/mumei-tanto-restoration-finish-drogamiecza

Second laquering this is a mix: - laquer 12 gr >>> (for this saya 9 gr in total is enough) - 5 drops of a red transparent pigment - 10 drops of black translucent pigment - 3 ampoules of activated charcoal powder (from the pharmacy) - copper filings - clean and dry (half-caps from water) As you can see, during the painting, I covered the KURIKATA groove (a piece of wood - matched). Of course, the ingredients must be mixed well and mixed before each application, because the copper sinks very quickly. I applied the varnish with a small brush of medium hardness, about 1.8 cm wide. With a small brush, it is easier to control the saturation of copper. Very important. If you do not varnish ura and omote separately from SAYA, it should be every 30 minutes, turn the saya 180 degrees (until it stops running). The varnish flows together with the copper, the rotation will give you a more even surface without streaks. http://instagr.am/p/BuUSrFnlhXC Thank You

Judging from your previous projects, it's going to turn out amazing.

Judging from your previous projects, it's going to turn out amazing. For now it is going well, but I will grind and polish the blade ... and there are only difficulties along the way ...

That's what saya looks like, after the first varnishing with clear varnish. I'm satisfied with the depth effect (3d). I applied 4 layers of varnish with copper. Only the first layer was black with an opaque color. The next layers were transparent red-black, you can see the depth of the pattern. I'm not happy with the saturation of filings. It's quite uneven ... I'll work on this for the next project with copper. This saya will still be sanded and varnished 2-3 times with clear varnish. http://instagram.com/p/BuyUitTlIdR

Excellent work. I have to admit, the kissaki on this one has me giddy with enthusiasm. What an excellent design, if only more blades took such a refined shape.
I really enjoy your tsuba-koiguchi symmetry. Its a rare sight and oh so pleasant to the eye. Thanks for sharing this project with us, it's a beauty.
