Sorry that you need to sell. It would be helpful if you could photograph the markings, if any. Also can you say something about the history of that piece.

African, yes. Tubu. The pommel is diagnostic. Hard to say what it's worth - the last 4 that sold on ebay went for US$20 up to US$150.

Thank you soo much ,so you think it’s African ? Yes, African. If you google for "Tubu dagger", you'll find some example, and you see what dealers are selling them for.

Man. You know a lot of stuff. Where did you learn it? If you don't mind me asking, cause you seem highly educated. Is it a job, or a hobby? Pretty sure Timo is very highly educated in a very challenging field. Weapons is just a hobby. But there are lots of resources to learn stuff from. First, the Ethnographic Weapons forum at www.vikingsword.com/vb/index.php is a superb resource. Also nice is www.arscives.com/historysteel/introduction_main.htmNext, keep an eye on the dealers who have a lot of stuff like this passing through. Oriental Arms has a very nice website, with great photos and info on stuff - not just the stuff for sale, but also that's sold and stuff from his own collection: www.oriental-arms.com/index.php Ashoka Arts is also good. Then, books. If you like books on exotic weapons, they're out there. The good ones usually have a narrow focus, so it's easy to justify a large book collection. Alas, such books often have small print runs and can be hard to find (or expensive - try seeing how much people ask for Cato's "Moro Swords"). If you want one book with lots of variety, Stone's Glossary: books.google.com/books?id=J5PgapzD6FoC (reprints are reasonably cheap if you want a new copy, and second-hand copies are often quite cheap). If you're interested in what I do with my formal education: scholar.google.com.au/citations?user=vKUFvQYAAAAJ&hl=en (not all physics - there's a scattering of other stuff in there).
