I don't think that's much of a bet. I've seen images of a Honshu katana hilt disassembled, and it has the smallest of nubs tack welded to the inside screw-together box. They are wall-hangers at best.

Actually you might be surprised Oldvesemir. I had a h-ll of a time getting that handle off. They probably make some swords cheap but not all.

Awgh that's ugly. Why not just use the comic book design everyone rips off? Euagh.
The broadsword looks like the Ronin katana euro series but tacified in the grip.

It looks like they may have made some positive changes to their construction methods, but I would still be hesitant to buy one with the intentions to cut with it.

Went right back!

I can't see the problem here. Item description says: It is a "must-have" for your collection .

I have the United Cutlery Gil Hibben designed Rambo IV "machete" (yeah, right...if you believe a 2 3/4 POUND object with a 10" blade is a machete ). You need to modify the ridiculous brick of a handle to your liking and convex the edge after testing it to make sure that Chinese heat treat is ok, but for $29 of 1090 it should function as a decent "rib shack" choppah.

Can anyone provide a link to pictures of any Honshu boshin tangs as stated above. I’ve looked and can’t find any. I’ve seen the Munetoshi tac wak review and pictures on this site. Thanks
