not bad... but when it comes to a down-to-work battle ready, non-nonsense Gladius i prefer the Condor model...

I grabbed one, the blade is flat black, not mottled like in the picture, still nice though.

Wait, this is a thing? How have I never seen this one before? I must need an eye (or a brain) exam. What an awesome little sword. Hefty though, 2 lb 8 oz for a 22 in. blade...talk about a cleaver.

I think most of the battlecry line looks quite goofy but this one model actually looks ok to me. Id get rid of the blueing on the blade if i bought one though

Im not a fan of the fleur de lys on the agincourt pommel, and the triangle sections on the grip. Perhaps ill partially retract my statement on the bosworth, the general shape is ok except for the blade blueing. Of course these are all only aesthestic concerns and are subjective

Meh, why the hate for the fleur de lis? Do you not like croissants?
Although, making room for garnet (excellent choice of gem, by the way oldvesemir) is always a solid choice

i like swords & stones... ;-) That looks great, Oldvesemir! I'm not familiar with that sword, though. Who is the maker? Do you have pics of your Agincourt with the added garnets? As for the Battlecry Gladius, I think I like their current but long-standing models, the Mainz and the Pompei, better. Simply going by looks, anyway. I do own the Mainz, but have never seen or held the Battlecry in person.

The hilt looks cool but I don't want a black coated blade on a gladius (like my Battlecry Acincourt has). At least it made me order a non-Battlecry Windlass Centurion gladius I hope to get in 2-3 weeks. Could the Windlass Centurion be the base for the Battlecry Centurion? Looks a bit similar but seems to be much lighter. I already have a Gen2 Maintz and wanted a more gladiesque gladius now.

Haha, not worse than the hand and a half handle. Indeed it's half gladius and half claymore.

He used to be in here and on Myarmoury too. He did the grip, the scabbard, and refined the crossguard. Stones inserted by me... ;-)

I actually think it might have it's own proprietary blade, when I look at the specs and put them against the other gladius's that windlass has, it's both wider and heavier then all others. The Battleccry one also has metal hilt components, which adds quite a bit of weight completely regardless of the blade.

It is. My 2012 Maintz is a really big gladius and on pictures the handle doesn't look that long. But I can grip it with two hands including the pommel, and I don't have small hands. I call it a Liechtenauer gladius and it allows training longsword techniques in an apartment with a not-so-high ceiling. Don't know if they changed it in the meantime.

I like that Gladius but generally I am more of a shiny object chaser. The battlecry series doesn't say hello to me.

The coating is actually kind of nice. The finish on my Bosworth has this sort of black marble look to it that's pretty cool. Everything being super shiny and mirror finished gets stale after awhile, I'm all for blade polishes with different tones hence why I like pattern welded, folded and Japanese stuff so much
Plus, everything about this gladius just makes it look like a sword belonging to the Centurion of Doom lol. Such a cool piece

Imagine what the Battlecry Gladius would look like if it had the white bone (or faux bone) hilt of the Maintz Gladius? I think that contrast between black and white would look awesome!

I think the battlecry are windlass' combat or beater line. A dark finish gives it a used or antique look, but I would have to see the actual color to judge it.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I just vinegar finished my windlass Musso bowie. Now it looks like a old weapon, not a wall hanger.
