I have one that has a leak somewhere and was thinking of trying to cut through it. My sword choices are a Atrim Falchion, Albion Spatha, a few different repo Gladius's or a Zombie Tools Reaper 4. I've watched a lot of people do bottle cutting but never one of these big bottles filled with water. Just wondering if anyone every tried it.
It was either that or shoot it with a 12 gauge slug to see what happens. lol

Sounds interesting. I've never done it myself, but it would seem to me that any decent sword could cut through without problems. Why not cut it with the Falchion, stab it with the Gladius, then shoot it with the scatter gun? That will teach that water bottle a lesson but good!

Check various CS advertising videos. Thompson and some of his staff have done this. Sorry, I can’t remember what they used.

I have. Your Atrim would be perfect for the job. Have fun.

The plastic is thicker and more brittle. You can do it, but I think you run a greater risk of sword damage.

Im sure it's possible. But ive heard of people bending their swords trying to cut 1.5L bottles with bad edge alignment, let alone a giant bottle.. So make sure you're good to go in terms of ability. (I mean no insult, just that i don't you or your skill level)

Use something with a thick sturdy blade!! I have a T10 DH katana with a no hi blade that would probably do the job!!

Not all water cooler bottles are the same. Some are dramatically thicker than others.

Joash's, Atrim Falchion will cut that bottle. I've don't it with a dull( damaged edge) thin messer.

All good advice. My Atrim got some votes but its also my most expensive sword. I'm inclined to use one of my Gladius because of the sword flex issue and my lack of experience. I believe I have the strength to do it. I have a TFW Gladius that is light, fast and pretty sharp which would be more forgiving towards my lack of experience. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the feedback but I'll wait until it gets warmer.
