Outta my price range, but sooo pretty in that sick, apocalyptic kinda way: zombietools.net/tools/Anyone have one of these or know someone who does? I'm deeply intrigued, even with the hype considered.

I'm not sure I like the idea of the aluminum handle, I would much prefer something in solid wood and quite frankly if I were going to be facing a zombie invasion I would want something like a philipino blade that can be used for everything, or a khukuri. Although I think chopping off zombie heads with a khukuri might be difficult.

I also don't like the acid-etching, but the handle got me, too.
As far as kukri, weren't they used to decapitate living people? Sure, it's a bit close, but it appears that a kukri could do the job. Am I missing something?

I'll give them this, the slightly tip-forward design will help give a decent cut(assuming the rest of the geometry isn't crap).
The Aluminum handle is a bad idea. Might be ok if it was checkered or something, but it looks smooth and would become instantly slippery when wet. The maker tries to overcome this with that sub-hilt flange, but it's a pretty well-known fact that sub-hilt knives are less effective on combat. The flange that steadies your pointer finger also highly limits your grip. An effective knife/sword can't have a perfectly ergonomic handle because the way your hand grips the thing will change depending upon the situation. This is why most ALL knife and sword handles are pretty simply in shape, nothing jutting out.
The acid-etching is very unpleasing to the eye, and I don't see a reason behind it. If truly designed for a zombie invasion, the swords themselves would be much more simplified(simple, basic finish and no pointless extention of the handle-scales into the blade).
Other then the slight tip-forward design, nothing about these strike me as designed for zombie-invasion scenarios. Personally, I'm of the opinion that zombie-survival would require something as simple as possible, and as useful in varying situations. After a couple years of pondering the subject, I honestly can't think of anything better then a tactical hatchet, my personal favs being from Mineral Mountain. The hatchet it less cumbersome than a sword, is more effective in decapitation/skull-splitting then a sword, is great for getting into locked buildings(John Daniels didn't use a SWORD to break down the door... "Heeeeeeere's Johnny!"), and also functions as an encampment tool(chopping firewood, building shelter, etc).

It's a mildly entertaining site but the blades are just plain ugly and overpriced IMHO.

if you really wanna kill zombies go to wal-mart and get 2-4 of those 7$ machetes and that way if one breaks or takes a permanent set you just pull out another but overall i dont really like the looks of those "zombie killers"

WOOHOO for zombies!
Just remember when choosing machetes for zombies, that you must sever or crush the head. In my experience, machetes are too light for cleaving bone, whether it's vertebrae or skull bone...
EDIT: Uh... never mind about the "in my experience" stuff.

I agree....A two handed mace is probably is most efficient non-shotgun weapon to handle zombie invasions, as long the head is the target.

Human sacrifice and BBQ... How totally "South Pacific" in nature. May I suggest you might do it on the beach for added flair, Mr. 666? ;D

I'm trying to remember the name of that modified E-tool from World War Z that was made for Zombie-hacking... I wouldn't mind one of those...

I think someone was trying to build one over on SFI. It was common concensus that strictly sticking to the descriptions in the book yields an overweight piece of crap.
