This is the 3rd and final portion of the giveaway. This one's for New Years. To enter just leave a New Years message naming a hope for the coming year. I'll keep this thread open until midnight PST, Dec. 31st. Looking forward to seeing your submissions.
I've got a number of hopes, but I'll share a frivolous one. I hope an iron meteorite just small enough not to cause any real damage (to my house, anyway) lands in the alley behind my yard. If so, I'll hack it up into chunks and share them around with y'all. Space swords are cool.
In the new year of 2019, I hope to finally take some well-deserved and much-needed vacation time. I wouldn't mind just staying home, and relaxing. My family has asked me to go on vacation with them, though. I kind of doubt I'll go so far afield, but Carcassonne, Madrid, and Vienna are really high on my dream destinations. Maybe NYC will have to do. In any case, I need a vacation!
For 2019 I hope to learn enough Spanish to communicate more efficiently with my groups of bilingual students to increase their success in school. Tired of seeing them be passed on with the thought that they don't matter as so many others have done to them!
For 2019, I hope for the best when it comes to family and loved ones, and to remember to take time to stop and look at the beauty and wonder of this world. this time of year I always reflect on how quickly it has went by, so I just want to enjoy every day as much as I can

By the end of 2019 I want to be able to run two miles in 15 and a half minutes, do 45 pushups in 2 minutes, do 60 pushups in 2 minutes, and be generally more in shape. Sword - wise, I want more 19th century sabres and I want my castille rapier to arrive. I'd also like to attend some HEMA tournaments and SCA events. I went to two last years and they were fun.
As to everyone else - have a good new years and a successful and fulfilling years' end and 2019.
For 2019 I hope to be able to keep working with my current team, and I hope my family has a good year for health. I also hope my friends and family find themselves in places that they'll be able to enjoy, and that my grandfather especially gets to enjoy his retirement facility more than he did this year.

Brother Nathaniel: You might be onto something. I always figured it was all of the virgin flesh/blood consumption during the rituals.

RufusScorpius: Oy, brother Nathaniel. That explains why you're brain doesn't work quite right...

Brother Nathaniel: I made the most ghetto wine one time lol, 96oz Welch's Grape juice bottle, an extra cup of sugar and a packet of yeast. Leave for a few weeks with the cap loosely threaded on. Boom.

RufusScorpius: I ain't telling you what to do, just where to go to find interesting things.... Do as you will with the information. Most likely there will be Mennonite store somewhere in your area that sells it.

Jordan Williams: Rufus are you telling me I need to kidnap the local mennonites and force them to make me this eggnog
Sept 30, 2020 18:04:38 GMT
RufusScorpius: I have an old Mennonite recipe for eggnog that will send you to the moon and back. It's difficult to make, but it's like ambrosia steeped in nectar. It's very thick, as good eggnog should be, but it can be cut down with some Jack

ardhanari: A baloon is a good way to let the carbon dioxide increase without bursting the container, but I made my own burper. You can buy them online, and I dont wanna explain how I made mine hahha, it was an annoying process
Sept 30, 2020 5:31:34 GMT
ardhanari: I added more sugar and activated yeast, and let it sit in plastic containers i sterilized with bleach water , and let dry naturally
Sept 30, 2020 5:30:27 GMT
ardhanari: I used crab apples cause it grows in a relatives yard and she never uses them. I filled a giant pot with them, cut in hald, with a bunch of sugar. I boiled them on low for a few hours with my spices of choice. When done, I strained them and juiced the pulp
Sept 30, 2020 5:29:52 GMT
ardhanari: And it was personal
Sept 30, 2020 5:28:41 GMT
ardhanari: I might try make more, but its such a sempriniin hassle it turns out lol. I made sooooo many dishes that were so hard to clean, but that first batch was worth it
Sept 30, 2020 5:28:34 GMT
Sullivan: Where’s a good recipe to get me started online, do you have a recommendation? Or better yet a personal recipe?
