I wish they had given me a 556r. It’s the perfect combination of an AR’s versatility and accuracy (also WAY more accessories) with the 7.62x39’s extra Oomph. It’d be super awesome to have the extra $$$ to pick one up.
Ohhhh nice grab. The FNX-45 has been on my “to buy” list for a while now. I’ve heard it’s a super smooth .45 launcher, with FN’s brand of excellence, plus like you said 15+1 capacity and 3 magazines right out of the box! If you have the time could you do a quick review on it? I’ve heard only positive stuff about it.

But I heard they had a lot of problems with their 15 Rd mags. The FNX-45 Doesn't seem to have that problem. Wanted a large capacity 45 light baring gun for the home defense roll... Hopefully this one fits the bill. Will report back... Have never owned an FN pistol.

Why do you guys have to talk about another grail gun in the 365 thread.. now the list gets even longer! Guns are as addictive as knives & swords, yet even more damning as they are more expensive on average...and you have to FEED them tasty lead pellets. Gulp.

I have several guns that were up there in price but the majority of them were in the Windlass and Del Tin range price wise....lol Makes picking them up more than tempting.

DEFINETLY a difference between an "Albion" handgun and a "United Cutlery".

I guess if you could only budget for UC and sub-200 swords, handguns would seem expensive. Heck, everything would be expensive. I get it. Was there once when I first started out back in the day. Might end up there again if everything went to hell.
There are some acceptable and functional handguns out there in the 200 range when you catch them on sale. I am a big fan of the Eastern European surplus handguns and many fall in the lower range. Many decent preowned handguns on the secondary market as well. Some retailers have a good layaway program for every budget. Have bought some nice military surplus rifles on the cheap as well.

It would be interesting to do a side by side price point graph of low, medium, high cost handguns & compare their sword/knife equivalents. Your always after value equaling or exceeding cost. What would be a handgun equivalent of a Sebenza, for instance?

What would be a handgun equivalent of a Sebenza, for instance? I had to google that....lol Looks like (from the web) Sebenza 21 Plain goes for $375 - $450. Tons of handguns in that range. A couple of the places I check normally is: www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.phpwww.classicfirearms.com/

Also Bud’s has a 180 day layaway list that changes weekly. It’s too bad Classic Firearms doesn’t offer anything like that! I also check Gunbroker every once in a while so I can drool all over the single action Colts, and 1911’s.

A couple of the places I check normally is: www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.phpwww.classicfirearms.com/The Sebenza thing in the knife world is sort of polarizing topic, being you can get a perfectly serviceable knife (Benchmade, Spyderco, etc...) for half to a quarter of that price. A frame/liner lock sporting S30V at over $400 is pretty extravagant, but the fans really harp about the fit & finish. I think a handgun equivalent of a Sebenza would be well over one to two grand. Maybe a Glock, Sig P365, HK VP9, Walther, etc...would be in the $5-700 realm, so maybe equivalent to Spyderco & Benchmade in the $75-130 region (Emerson seem overpriced). Ruger revolvers used to be less expensive than they are today, and Sig/HK semi's producing in American factories seem to be lowering prices...so price brackets can fluctuate. Ontario & Kabar fixed blades seem a great value compared to Tops & Esee.

Carry & concealment are the price of admission...but as the song goes, "He ain't heavy, he's my brother".

I see the FNX-45 as an awesome Duty Gun, and a bad $emprini home defense option. Yeah only a moron would stare down the barrel of this bad boy and not piss themselves!

Argh!! The PX is selling the Sig P365 on sale again... $459 no tax! I want to wait longer to be sure they have the kinks out... But... But... I want. Frustrating.

I can say from multiple reviews of people buying the more recently produced P365’s, that there haven’t been anymore of the original complaints from the earlier production models. Personally I have 700rnds through mine now, and using the hotter 124gr NATO Ammo (on purpose) I haven’t had any of the reported failures and issues. Even the two 12rnd mags I picked up haven’t given me any trouble. I’d say if you can get one at the price you mentioned, and manufactured either December of 2018, or even January 2019, go for it. It’s been incredible to carry for over a month now. Doesn’t print no matter what I wear (and with 12+1 on top of it), and I’m not worried about carrying it in Spring or Summer at all.

So... I did it. I aquired a Sig p365 a day before the sale ended. Mine has a Dec manufacturing date. Now... I shall start the testing. Hey Stark... Where was the super cheap hookup for the 12 Rd mags?
