The chakmak is only for realigning the edge, like a chef's/butcher's knife steel. To sharpen a blunt edge, you need to remove steel, and that isn't a job for a chakmak. File, grinder (if you avoid overheating), whetstone, sandpaper, etc. is what you need. Even if it wasn't Deepeeka-blunt, just regular-blunt, I'd still recommend the same for sharpening.

Not sure what a chakmak is but if it’s one of the two small knives that that I knew by other names that escape me for the moment that comes with a kukri forget it. I’ve put that little sharpener to use for correcting a rolled edge on various knives but as far as sharpening it’s a dud. I used sandpaper when I needed something more aggressive and for a minor touch up ceramic rods. I did one yesterday using my Work Sharp. But to tell the truth I like the appearance of my original methods better although it is sharp and will go back to those methods on my kukris.
