Here is a picture of my new knife. It came just today. A damascus dagger to be exact.

That's a good looking knife. What are the statistics and who made it?

Im not sure who made it. I got it off eBay and the person I bought it from has high feedback. It came from Canada and the overall length is 13 inches, the blade is 8 inches, it weighs approx. 460 grams, its got a brass guard with densified wood and the description reads: THIS BLADE IS HAND FORGED WITH 1095 AND 15N20 HIGH AND LOW CARBON STEEL WITH OVER 200 LAYERS.THIS BLADE IS UP TO 58 H R C ON ROCKWELL SCALE WHICH HOLDS THE SHARPNESS FOR LONG TIME AND CAN BE USED FOR TOUGH WORK.

Pakastani. The exact same ad copy has been selling inexpensive knives for a couple of decades now. There are a handful of eBay sellers that market these and you can find them on Amazon as well. Here are one seller's wares www.ebay.com/sch/burhakhokha_0/m.html?item=253977693318&hash=item3b22400c86%3Ag%3AvLwAAOSwBZxb6dpThe guard is a brass copy of the Gil Hibben daggers. If you copy that exact ad blurb and use it as a search term, you'll see hits way back. The manufacture of the billets are super cheap and if one considers the profit margin for a $30 knife imported from those areas, I wouldn't expect the world but they are pretty for the price.

Well I am now going to put it to the test. It cost me about $30 including shipping and handling and now I am going to see how well it functions as a knife.

They are exactly the same provenance. One can pursue a .99 cent auction, or pay $90 for the same thing with a "list" price of twice that.
There is no need to further justify you purchase, just enjoy it for what it is.
