Hello everyone, I have had this blade for a very long time and have tried several times to find out more about it with not much luck. I inherited this Kris from my great Aunt who was a collector of many amazing things. Everything else from her vast collection went to the museum. Today was slow at work so I took another crack at trying to find more detailed information on it and stumbled across this great site! By rummaging around on here I think what I have is a Moro Kris but I would like someone with more knowledge than I to give me a hand in getting a better idea of when it was made and by who. It is 24" in total length with 11 luk's. I can take and post any images that will help. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, a Moro kris. Look old, not later than late 19th century. I'd guess Maguindanao.
Is the pommel horn or wood?
Looks like the stirrup itself runs down the grip, rather than securing a separate metal strap that runs down the grip. Unusual.

Hey Timo, The pommel is wood, here is another pic that might help. Again if you need a specific close-up of something just let me know. Thanks for your time and expertise!

The only thing I can add is that the scabbard looks newer than the sword. Do you know approximately when it might have been collected?
