Hello all, delurking with a question on one of the JKOO/SinoSwords wakizashis. I've seen plenty of decent reviews of their swords, and their 9260 swords, but never anything on this one: sinosword.com/Shobu-Wakizashi-Forged-T10-Wakizashi.htmlURL says T10, description 9260, and price tag is $69, which seems way lower than I would have expected. Does anyone have this particular sword and, if so, how is the fit/finish compared to, say, a low-end Hanalei like the Raptor series (of which I have a katana and tanto)? Thanks in advance.

Hello all, delurking with a question on one of the JKOO/SinoSwords wakizashis. Does anyone have this particular sword and, if so, how is the fit/finish compared to, say, a low-end Hanalei like the Raptor series (of which I have a katana and tanto)? Thanks in advance. A friend of mine ordered a budget sword like this for Sinosword. The actual price was doubled by shipping and taxes, this is what you have to bear in mind when importing these really cheap swords. Regarding the quality I can say the following: - The tang is mediocre, but serviceable
- The blade geometry and balance is quite good, for what you're buying, my friend's even had a geometric yokote
- Hardening was okay. My friend's katana came with a hamon that ran out, and a small flaw in the hamon, on the lower section of the blade, but that was also why he payed less, and I haven't seen any other blades in this price category that had a real hamon to begin with
- The finish is semprini though; the mune ridge was off-centre and the monouchi was downright blunt to the point that taking it over a piece of leather or fine polishing stone wouldn't even sharpen it. My guess is, they messed up the edge when going for the geometric yokote.
- Koshirae is utter garbage, but at least it holds up. However, don't expect the guard to actually act as a guard, as it will most likely shatter on the smallest impact

Idk, the review above could have had a bad experience on a blade, but for the most part Sinosword is really solid. The blades aren't bad. For the most part they have good polishes. Some of their lines can be a little off centered. None of their tsubas should break. They are either solid brass, iron, or copper. No zinc alloy fittings. I have two myself and really like them. The mountings are also done well for the most part. Not 100% right but they are sturdy and serviceable. Utter garbage might be pushing it. There's tons of good reviews out there for them. They aren't the best, but aren't the worst, and they even excel in some areas.
