Don't know anything about the sword, but I wanted to let you know that links to eBay are just fine. The only time you cannot link to it is if it's your own auction/sale. So no worries.

"It has a 10 1/2" inch metal hilt along with a 12 1/4" inch cross-guard that a magnet won`t stick to." Pot metal? I think it would crack or simply break if you tried to cut with it. I would not buy a sword without a steel cross guard - unless you just want a wall hanger.

I would be afraid of that. There is a similar guard floating around out there on a sword extremely similar to the Windlass German Bastard Sword that has been known to break. With the owner not knowing (or so he says) about his product, a non-ferrous guard, and unknown manufacturer, I see many red flags unless you want it for decoration. Windlass made a similar sword that’s OK if you can find one.

Yeah, the guard and pommel look like pot metal castings, to me. It's a purely decorative item.

The blade looks poorly ground also. Lines are crooked etc. Expensive wallhanger.

Perhaps it was intended as a movie prop? Not for stage combat due to the weight but a background piece? He said he thinks it was purposely aged.
