So, how many years did it take to finish this? Did you quit your job and live on a mountain top to focus on this project? I doubt any Vikings ever had an axe this nice!

Is it SOLD? The triple triangle is key... I made an offer to 1jedi. I need to give him time to respond. I wasn’t sure I wanted to sell it, but if I do, I can do another one!!!

Fantastic work. Very fine indeed I recall you mentioned an axe project a little while ago, would this be that project? That's some very nice work, lookslike it would feel very nice in hand. Ouro

Ouro Thank you!!! Yes indeed this is the one. I am looking forward to the L. Driggers axe and hammer I got. Also reworking my old cold steel battle mace. Feels like so long since I have been creative, so this is a welcomed return to doing something fun.

Yup, I know the feeling. I'm carving a new tsuka for a hanwei raptor and I'm experiencing the lost time in woodworking land syndrome. It's so relaxing that I honestly forgot my mother in law was upstairs and I was supposed to make diner YOU snagged that axe and hammer? Good job, I was watching that for a while but ... my kats need new samegawa and tsukaito and lether and... Looking forward to the next round of pics...mmmm mace! Ouro

I had been watching for months, on the fence about it, always asking myself "What am I going to do with another axe and a war hammer? " Modify them, that's what!!!! Been working on my old school Cold Steel Battle Mace this evening. I did a file work pattern I have been wanting to try. I am doing a series of ebony stains and black cherry stains on the haft. The filed pattern is really standing out, but I hit the thing with 1000 grit sandpaper and I think I polished it too much for the stain to really get a hold, so I might have to back it down to 320 or so.

I'd love to see what you do with the CS Battle Mace. It's one of the only Cold Steel products I own (I'm not really a fan of the company), and I incorporated it into a re-imagined goedendag build I started and never finished. Maybe your customizing efforts will inspire me to finish my goedendag.
