The rust could be from someone handling the sword with their sweaty hands while preparing for shipment. Probably not wearing gloves like they should be when handling shipping merchandise
I have actually seen blades where the finger prints were showing as rust.

Yes I plan on doing a review shortly, just been busy with work lately and its been raining on my days off. I'd love to know your thoughts on the sword. I actually happened to buy the 14th Century one and made a review myself. Would love to know how it contrasted with your experience though. Here is my review if you would like to see it:

It appears that you are batting the target. If you put more of a slice into your cuts you will be more successful. Nice review.

The space I had to practice didn't really help but I do plan on practicing my form once I find a suitable place with more room. I'm glad you liked the review though.
