This has so much potential. Think of all the awesome discontinued Windlass models we've lost and the possible availability of them all or at least a good bulk of them thanks to KoA. This is about the coolest thing I've heard in recent years regarding the sub $300 medieval market. And maybe just maybe if it catches fire Museum Replicas and Windlass will see their older discontiued models hold much more potential than their newer gaudy glitzy clunky models and follow suit bringing back more as well as new models that have that more historical design to them.

Way back when I debated between the Towton and the Arbedo. I went with the Towton. It was a beautiful looking sword. It was very flexible though. I ended passing it on. Now that the Arbedo is back, I may go for it. Seems like it may be just as flexible though a bit shorter. I would like to see them reintroduce the Ravenna Sword. That was one I drooled over as a cash poor teen. If I remember correctly, they also featured a hand and half war sword alongside the Ravenna Sword that had a half-wire grip. I've never seen that since, but I thought that was awesome too. I wish I still had those old catalogs. Seth, if I remember my MRL catalogs correctly, the sword you're referring to was called the Renaissance War Sword. I think. The one I have in mind also had a sort of leather-covered ricasso similar to the Braveheart Sword. Same one you're thinking of? I replied to KoA's Facebook post, and requested that one, along with several others.

I'd love to see them bring back the Windlass Wakefield. myarmoury.com/swor_mrl_wake.htmlI know DT makes a version of those sword, but it is never in stock and the Windlass version would be cheaper!

Now that I have a little more walking around money, I might have to spring for that. Sorry for the late reply. I was on a little vacation with no internet.

If you review the text on KOA's description of each of these pieces it states they (KOA) requested a special production run of these swords. This is why you won't be seeing them on MRL's site. If you take a look at Windlass' website they state they will do special production runs. It could be a custom design or a run of a proven winner like the ones Athena has commissioned. If this takes off, you'll probably see KOA repeat additional runs of retired models. Keep buying and you might get lucky and see one of your favorites be reborn.

I keep crossing my fingers for a new batch of Windlass' estoc/tuck to be available. Sword looked pretty good, and it'd be nice to see something like it for sale since estocs are next to impossible to find nowadays.
Of the ones released on KOA, the falchion looks pretty nifty but the Arbedo steals the show. Looks like a better designed 18c than the Ronin Alexandria. If I wasn't already content with my longswords for daily practice, I'd nab one. Even so, I'm still tempted, such a cool looking sword.

Wow guys. Although KOA's sharpening on the Maciejowski cleaver is the most pronounced secondary bevel I've ever seen (I can't imagine what the "edge" must have been like to start with.. at least 1.5mm), this thing is gorgeous. Haven't done any cutting with it yet (might have to take down the bevel) but it feels great it hand, has some very slight flex, and a nice thick spine.
Going to see if I can undo some of the "aging" on the grip but, as it is, really great for the money.

I purchased the Arbedo, and it is a great sword. Not whippy at all and handles lightening fast two-handed and very manageable one-handed. Way back when, I bought the Towton over the Arbedo and always wondered if I would have liked the Arbedo better. Now I know I do.

I stumbled onto KoA the other day only to find out that they brought back the Coustille. Next thing I know, I have a tracking number showing up in my inbox. It should arrive this afternoon.
...It's like magic!
