So... I'm not thrilled by the trailer. It's hard to exactly pin down why. For one, I love Henry Cavill as Geralt. He wasn't my first pick for the role, but once I heard he had been cast I thought "Yeah, that's pretty cool." And in general he looks the part. Watching the trailer just made me feel... meh. Possibly because Geralt and his career wasn't given much attention. The trailer hints at big conspiracies, earth shattering events, and all other grand fantasy tropes. But, to me, the moment to moment Witcher experience is smaller scale. It's Geralt plying his trade, hunting monsters, and being shunned by society. It's him bailing out his friends, bedding wenches and being a sarcastic badass. The teaser trailer didn't hint much at that, Geralt of Netflixia looks more grumpy and jaded than sarcastic. However, I liked a few things. Geralt fights like I imagined; a combination of vaguely realistic and over the top. He isn't a normal human, so normal human rules of combat don't apply to him. And we do see him looking like he is dosed up to his gills on potions when hunting a giant spider. So overall, I'm not too excited. It looks like it's trying to fill the Game of Thrones void for huge epic fantasy series, when personally I wanted more focus on Geralt. It is still just a teaser, so maybe I'll get more of what I personally want. And hell, I'll watch it anyway

Oh, whatever. Y'all being too critical (typical for internet forums). It's gonna be great.
And for **** sake, if the benchmark for fantasy is GAME OF THRONES.....literally the animated movie of Swan Lake will be better. So cheer up. Can't be worse than the cluster**** that was the last three years of that series as it went to shite.
And for whoever hasn't read the actual books by Sapkowski...just do so. Because it puts this trailer in context. Video game Witcher ain't entirely book Witcher. This be book Witcher. Huge fan of both. And Cavil learned his role very well. Wonder how this series will pan out with regards to the plot...

Still better than (Edit: the belt suspension systems from) Dark Sword Armory.

I would like to be thrilled and hyped; cant wait. Well i am, kind off. Everything as i hoped and expected so far (minus some little flaws - see Nilfgard armor... made from sun dried prunes, or what? Troll scrotums? ): Geralt is perfect, Ciri is perfect. Yen a little on the younger side, great look & feel so far; but i keep myself and my greed low...too many disappointments lately. And i DONT mean GOT S08 - there everything was fine for me. IF the Witcher show will be in my TV top ten i will seriously stay out of discussions; i wouldnt like to have another top real life relief show ruined for myself. You already can see the gamerheads hating around everywhere...

Another goon relentlessly clutching onto this. Sad.

Another goon relentlessly clutching onto this. Sad. Wait for the first DSA sword to break in your hands... its funny. I know it. Also twisted and bent blades, unstable grips made from several pieces of wood, fake peens and tiny tangs are pure joy too. Along with the obvious false "made in canada" claim. Get some experience, son... Zab has LOTS more than you, be sure about it. And calling another member in here a goon is... at least borderline.

But bonus points for correctly identifying me as a goon. I would have never known myself to be a mafioso ruffian without your help.
On the subject, do you like lemons? I don't care too much for them personally, however when appropriately mixed into a drink they are rather splendid. I suggest a blender.

Get some experience, son... Zab has LOTS more than you, be sure about it. And calling another member in here a goon is... at least borderline. Statistically speaking, the chances that the two DSA blades I do have extensive experience with are both the one in a thousand, even though one of those is old enough to sport their original blade stamp, is... at least slim. I'm not claiming to have more experience than him, but I do have experience. While I'm not a mechanic I can assure you that I can point out burnt piston rings and a bent valve, as it were. For years, DSA was a big thing in my circle of friends because it was the most we could afford. None of us had issues with the blades themselves albeit the stitching on the grip rubbing us raw sometimes as if it were made of barbed wire. Otherwise the construction of the blades were always good, and never failed before my friend cut the blade in half to make it a dagger, because the second half of it was so beat up after years of less than practiced or humane use. I love my Albion, far more than any DSA I've ever handled. However, they have their place in the market and are better than others in the same price range such as Del Tin, again, in my experience. The old trope that "a happy customer will tell ten people, and an unhappy one will tell one hundred" is well at play here. To respond to the comment you made concerning being made in Canada, we can at the least say they're assembled in Canada, or as much made in Canada as Valiant armory was made in America. (Forgoing their craftsman series).

Well, I will apologize for the goon comment though I stand behind it. Normally I would'nt say something like that, however, I have seen the same comments in the last four previous threads that I perused previously, and I'll admit, I got irritated. When the term troll is used, it's unanimously understood. Typically the term goon is used to describe people that recycle the same thoughts or practices of another person, or group of people. While I don't know what experiences you've had with DSA, I know the experiences that I've had. I was really looking into purchasing a Bauler arms blade this week, though I feel obligated to purchase a DSA weapon instead. While it has been some time since I've handled a DSS blade, the muscle memory from days of splitting logs with one will surely return to me. If I'm wrong, it flies across the yard after a violent PING noise and kills my dog, you'll be the first person I apologize to. However, I feel that video proof won't draw any reaction from you besides potential comments justifying the thought I had after reading everyone except the OPs opinions appearently, that I'm the luckiest man alive.

How the h*l* did this go from talking about the Witcher to bashing on DSA again ? Talk about hijacking a post.

It is sort of magical in an odd way

I thought it looks pretty good. I'm interested to see the timeline work itself out. There are definitely a couple of scenes from the last wish that I'm excited to see.

If the whole scene with Yenn, Geralt and the Djinn with the teleportation shenanigans into the ballroom is kept intact and reproduced on-screen, I'll be re-watching it at least a dozen times in a row. Such a classic moment

Hey fellas, there will be a new trailer released today. It will probably be the last look before the show airs.

Right now "Kingdom come Deliverance" is my favorite game but Witcher 2 is close. I think maybe I was just expecting witcher 2 too much when I played 3... cant wait to see this show though. Look pretty good. Oh man the 3rd one is an entirely different field then the second one lol. Definitive... hose levels against almost open world...
