Finished my Karabela saber that I have made from a windlass shashka. I could not be more happy with my project Everything is solid and tight. I have not added any pins yet but it does have kind of an epoxy pin on one side where I drilled a hole in the tang and grip but I think it will hold. I may put a brass pin in later but for now I am thrilled with this saber. Handle is a deep walnut made from two halves and epoxied together over the tang.

The photos are a bit blurry (your camera needs more light!) but I do like the overall shape. Very much like some of the plainer historical karabela I've seen.

MOK ill take some better ones later outside with the phone there is a downpour outside right now tho lol. But thanks and it really has the Cossack/Pole feel I was going for I love it.

Yeah i really like it. I cant wait to cut with it tomorrow. Also I would like to see the custom karabala you are having made when it is finished and if it pans out.
