I am pretty sure that all of us have a favorite 'sword themed' song - I have a few, but 'Broadsword' by Jethro Tull is my favorite. For some reason every single time I am working on something to do with medieval swords on SBG it comes up and gets stuck in my head the whole time.. Heh.
How about you guys? What is your favorite 'sword song' and why?

"Broadsword" is it for me too. I always hear it in my mind when I hold my Gen2 River Witham Viking sword. A few other songs make me imagine swords but are not sword themed, f.e. Black Sabbath's "The Mob Rules" because of "Heavy Metal" (the 1981 film).

I have fond memories for Rhapsody - Emerald Sword from my D&D gaming times:
Edit:There's also quite Manowar sword/battle themed songs that I listen to from time to time.

What? No honorable mention for Yngwie Malmsteen?

Interesting. This is a category of song that I really have no favorite. I have several Viking related songs I like, pretty much anything from Amon Amarth could fall into that category, but I have never really thought about sword specific songs before.

More of battle songs than specifically sword songs, but these have been on a loop the last week.

Too dim to do a youtube link (plus the videos for it are poor anyway)but "Swords" by Leftfield from the album "Rythym and stealth". Why?, because it has the right feels methinks.

Not entirely about swords, but one segment does feature them. Awesome metal cover of an American classic. All these Volbeat fanboys are driving me nuts though. Paulsen does a great job like everyone else here, but SIR Russel Allen has been scientifically proven to be the best metal vocalist alive.

Cosmoline is right on with Queen's "Princes of the Universe."
Not exactly sure if its what the OP was asking for, but my favorite sword themed song is the part of "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" score "Duel of the Fates." Even if I'm doing something else at the time I'm listening to it, it makes me want to pick up one of my swords, and start swinging!

Not directly "sword" related, but a great Viking warfare song from a great Viking Metal band, Amon Amarth. This music makes me want to go raiding!
