Przemek Katana Project: Thought I would share some progress pics of my Przemek kat picked up quite a while back that I finally decided to try. I lacked some necessary tools but hit the county stores yesterday and dove in. Anyone who has had one of Przemeks blades delivered in shirasaya before will probably notice how massive the shirasaya is. Here are some progress pics of shaping the core and the fuchi that will be used. When all is said and done I plan on a full wrap of black samegawa and probably no ito. Starting to shape the core: Long way to go but a bit more progress: Channel carved to seat the fuchi but a lot left to remove, last few pics from todays progress: Edit: A huge thank you to Frankthebunny and his tutorials on Cottontailcustoms.com

Got a little further this afternoon and will probably go for an aikuchi style mount. I am not looking forward to thinning down the saya.

Sweet, looking forward to seeing how this comes together. Przemek is at the top of my list for custom swords when I have the design finalized and money saved up. His work is just awesome.

Thanks guys I should have a bit more progress next week. I need to pick up a basic plane and some wood glue before attempting the samegawa wrap.
