rhema1313 - Your gladii are beautiful, definitely a lot of obvious care and attention to detail. It's not something I'd likely buy only because of my interests being different... but the entire hilt blows me away every time. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with Faldarin, but next time I come across some money not earmarked for bills, you and I will have to talk! ๐

Maybe some day I'll be making the types of swords you are interested in...

The detail work on the hilt is simply astounding. Thank you! It is a good example of what can be done on both sides of the "Historically Accurate" and "Inspired By" customization/personalization.

Outstanding! And who's to say that some gladii, somewhere, were not carved with a dove or family name? We know for certain that modern weapons are often carved by bored soldiers at the front lines (called "trench art"), and we also know for certain that being a soldier at every time in history involved long boring days and nights of guard duty and waiting around for something to happen. So yes, I can accept the carvings and decorations as being fully probable for Roman times.
And for nothing else, it's a truly beautiful bit of work that anybody would be proud to own.
