... i still like to play with; but: has anybody ever seen a historical example similar to this? I never saw something like that before... but the design is cool and fitting, makes sense somehow, well thought IMHO. Attachments:

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

That looks very similar to something I've seen before, but don't remember where. It might have been over on myArmoury.com. Could have been a custom...dunno...memory-banks shot to hell.

Looks like a reasonable swiss sabre style weapon. As for historical examples, perhaps this is close enough

Yeah, i know swiss saber style swords; got three in that direction. Crossguards like that exist in many variations. Its more the style & construction/geometry of that blade that i find rather interesting and special...

Looks like a combination of a katana forte with a flat foible like some oriental sabers have, talwars f.e.

Some longswords, Swiss sabers and "Schiavonesca", I'd say mostly late 16th Century, do have backsword blades like that.
PS. The sharply flared shoulders and those notches on the false edge would be hard to find on historical swords of this overall type, though...

The guard shouldn't close so tightly. Looks painful.
Nehmen means something like "to take" right?
I can't find any historical reference with a Google search. I think fantasy with historical thought behind it.

Interesting. I keep thinking that something like the blade from ZT's D'Capitan combined with a swiss saber type hilt would be fun to have made... this doesn't help that!

All the historical swords I have have st least 1 inch of space between my knuckles and the guard bow. That looks pretty but painful.

There were boar swords of yore that had a somewhat similar cross section and profile but often with attached perpendicular bars. myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=26291&view=nextThe plate there is from Blackmore's tilte on hunting weapons, used to be available in paperback but a decent buy on used hardcover. arms-n-armor.com/custom918.htmlThere were also dueling swords with spade/spear like points and pointy pommels. Seems to me shown in the Fiore manuscripts. My addled brain has retrieval issues at times.

For my eyes the blade looks a bit like a straight talwar, so I googled pictures of "straight talwar" and found this:
