Completed June 4, 2018 1st Century Roman Fulham Gladius Sword. This is a historically accurate Fulham Gladius with a little artistic license. Not meant to be an exact "replica." This sword was created for one of my clients in the USA. He is a Reenactor that Portrays a Roman Centurion that is a 3rd Generation Legionary with a Celtic Heritage. This sword is special in many ways. It has been both "Personalized and Customized" to my clients desires. The sword is an "Award." It has the floral pattern on the Guard and the Pommel replica of the hilt in the Vindonissa Museum. However, because of his character's Celtic heritage we added a Celtic style rope pattern into the Guard and Pommel. The Guard and Pommel are hand carved from African Black Ebony. The Grip has been hand carved from Italian Olive wood. The Guard Plate has been personalized bearing "Legion II AVGVSTVS" the "2nd AUGUSTUS Legion." The Guard Plate, Brass Grip Rings, Pommel Washer and Finial are solid brass pieces. I hand make everything here in my shop to specific measurements and research. The Coin is a hand made replica of the AUGUSTUS Denarii with the Capricorn on the bace side of the coin showing. This is the Insignia for the Legion II AVGVSTVS. After making a few attempts to stamp the coin (which failed) I created a lost wax model and cast it in a mixture of brass and bronze. Awesome! As usual. This is one of my favorites of your swords so far. Thank you... when it was finished, I emailed my client and apologized to him and said... "I'm sorry, my wife said I needed to give you your money back because I am keeping this one... " LOL

So good! I hope you don't ever tire of this, because I need to commission something from you before the end of the year.

So good! I hope you don't ever tire of this, because I need to commission something from you before the end of the year. Sounds good... don't delay too long though before supply and demand drive my prices up... I do work on a 3 payment plan. So, its better to get into a queue early and get the design stage going.
