As we all know now, even Second Generation P365s have issues. This was going to be my first gun purchase in a long time (owned a mega amount of firearms in the past). In fact, I was planning to buy at least 2. Now, I will wait to see if ALL the bugs are resolved, if ever.
I remember when famed Sig gunsmith, Bob Gray of Gray Guns, commented how the Sig P224 would never function correctly (without custom work) due to 9mm power combined with small springs in too confined of a space. Proved to be true with the P224 in .40 Cal. (although it's not that small, infact it's really just a chopped p229).
Then again, other makers seem to have no problem making 9mm pistols a tad larger than the p365 without spring and firing pin issues.

Yeah this gun seems quite rushed. Really sad about it since it's finally arrived in my country.
Tim at MAC also had a failed gun :(
This helps me a bit though, since my firearm funds had already been diverted towards this... I can now aim for a CZ p10c or the 45 Shield or even one of them Ruger revolvers you guys speak so highly about :P

It just seems like for every “I put 1,000 rounds through my P365 with no issues” story theres 10 more stories about broken firing pins, and springs. I hate to say it but it seems like Sig forgot that the market this gun was aimed at was concealed carry, and the hallmark of a fantastic carry gun is RELIABILITY!! If we have to sit there wondering if the gun we bought is one if the “good ones” or its due for a carastrophic failure, that’s not reliability, that’s an ulcer waiting to happen! I almost bought a P229, so it’s funny you mention that, but I’m gonna stick with the Arex Rex Zero compact. It may be a Sig “clone” but at least it has a fantastic track record!

Sig has a history of releasing stuff with problems in this lineup. I remember the hubabaloo when the P250 came out. Eventually the guns level off and a lot of folks LOVE the p320.
Croccifixio - Bud's has a Lipseys special redhawk that is really sexy looking, in case you want a recommendation for a good .44 Ruger ;-)

I recently read that Sig indicated that the firing pins were from a bad batch with improper heat treatment or something like that. I'll just keep waiting. I was bummed when this gun first came out because I had been looking for something exactly like it for years and had just purchased two new carry guns (fatter winter carry w/12rd capacity and slimmer summer carry w/8rd capacity) and the Sig could have replaced both. Size of the summer carry with capacity of winter carry. Less bummed now that it keeps having issues. I still would really like to get one, but not until it's all sorted out.

Remember what I said before about not being able to get guns “right away” when they come out, and how that could be considered a good thing?? Well imagine how peeved you’d be if you spent $499+ on this gun and whatever trigger assembly spring broke when you needed it most?! Yeah that’s what happened to Tim (you’re right) and he was mighty steamed when that happened!! Crocc I can tell you that I’ve got over 400+ rounds through my P10c, and literally the only thing that even registers as a “problem” is the mag release being kinda tight to press. Ergonomically, trigger-wise, and even the factory Night Sights were out of the box awesome!! After the disappointment with Sig I think Il “stick to my guns” from now on and not buy anything that was JUST released! You mentioned the Shield (.45) but have you seen the Springfield XD-E in .45 yet? Check it out if you get a chance.

How long before someone complains that they don't make them the way they used to?

How long before someone complains that they don't make them the way they used to? I mean...I'm always partial to the 1911... She can be persnickety but I can at least fix most of the problems :-P

P365 looks to be a game changer (how did they get those magazines SO small) that isn't quite ready for prime time.

If only right? Besides, you know SOMEONE’S gotta come out with an equivalent to it, but chances are theirs will be better made the first time around! This gun scared quite a few competitors, but hopefully WE will be the ones to benefit from a little competition 😈

How long before someone complains that they don't make them the way they used to? There’s always gotta be at least one, right? 😉

Sounds like SIG's R51... I'll save for a nice Rock Island 1911 instead I think

The SIG P320 is great for civilian use but honestly they suck for military use. To easy to mess up. Since only the trigger assembly matters, I guess they'll be ok so long as they dont melt lol. I'll take a M9 over the M17 any day.

I'm firm believer that the 10mm is a solution looking for a problem I'll stick to the 45ACP I've been using since I went into the Army in 1982.
