Does anyone have any experience with the Cold Steel Sure Strike Throwing Stars? I want to grab some, but I'm not sure which weight I should get... I'm pretty sure I should avoid Light, but is Heavy too heavy? Just wondering which weight category is best for range, accuracy and penetration.
Oh, and I'm not absolutely set on the Cold Steel stars - if there's a cheaper option that's just as good, I'd be fine getting those too. But from the research I've done, Sure Strike seem to be the best you can get.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out.

I’ve personally used these (https://www.bladehq.com/item--Cold-Steel-Medium-Sure--5550) medium ones, and they are adequate weight without being “too” heavy. Hope that helps some 😁

Alright, I think that's what I'll go for. If they don't suit me, I can always just buy the next weight up or down. Thanks!

No problem. I bought the medium size because I had the same thoughts you did, so I figured start in the middle! If they were too heavy, I could go down one size....too light, then up one. I thought they were a good enough size for flinging all over my yard, and they fly true enough!! Best of luck!!

I found the Light stars to be perfectly sufficient in terms of weight/target penetration, and fairly durable in spite of their relative thinness. I actually avoided the Medium because of a few accounts of them breaking easily, but those could have been malfunctions in production or improper use.
Whichever you buy, I suspect you'll be pleased.

Hmm... Thanks for the advice. I think I'll still try out Medium, and move to Light if Medium isn't working.

They’re a lot of fun, just don’t try to knock an apple off of anyones head. I’ve....um....heard that’s dangerous LOL 😉

if it is light it will go further but it will not have accuracy, if its heavy it will not go further and will be accurate for short distance, so medium is the one i guess, will work for both, maybe at later stages you meet some pro who can advise something better.

The lighter ones are easier to throw since they aren't beveled like like the heavy ones.
