A word on the attachment feature: Please read.

Hey folks. With the recent rectal throttling that Photobucket blessed upon its users the forum has seen a sharp rise in the use of the Add Attachment feature when sharing images. That's fine, that's what it's there for. However(really stretch that out when reading it in your head) that also means that the forum's attachment memory is getting burned through at a much higher rate, and we're once again approaching a maxed limit. Now, this happened before. You all may remember me being all like "That's it, man! Game over man! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" the first time, and I'm glad to say that we've got a slightly better handle on what to do this time around thanks to some helpful forum members who chimed in with some solid advice back then. Here's what I intend to do. If something goes wrong, it's all me. My fault. Then again, if it all goes right...
I am reducing the overall attachment size per post from 8 attachments or 40mb max to 8 attachments or 15mb max. That's a big cut, but I based it off of the fact that I've never seen a post that exceeded that when some simple image size reduction is used. Not even anything close to that, which leads me to the next part: I'd like to ask that folks, especially those that use the HD feature on their camera, to reduce their image file size prior to uploading. That will take an image that is potentially 5 to 10mb in size to one that is a fraction of that. This should not have any impact on quality when displayed here. Here's an example.
This is a picture I took, which is 7.43mb right off the boat:
This is the same image which I used Microsoft paint to reduce from 100% to 30%. It is 444kb in size.
And lastly, here it is reduced to 15%, 188kb.
Doing this will greatly slow down the headlong decent into maxed memory madness that we are facing. As I mentioned, I only have used Microsoft Paint to do this as that's all I have to work with, but I image that there's a similar option with most image editing programs.
Next, we'd like to ask that folks use 3rd party image hosting whenever possible. I know the reaming from PB still smarts, and that you may be hesitant to utilize a hosting service when the same thing may happen, but it's necessary for the time being. At the moment Imgur and Pinterest are two viable free options. 3rd party hosing does not take up attachment memory, neither does YouTube to the best of my knowledge(my paltry, paltry knowledge).
Here's the same image hosted from Imgur. First is the original size, second is the reduced size(though if you are using 3rd party hosting then reducing size is not necessary for the forum, but slows the consumption of your free memory space with the hosting service).
You guys have all been doing great about marking sales threads as sold or closed so that we can ramble through and remove attachments that are no longer needed, and that's been a great help. Keep it up, we appreciate it.
So there you go. Those are my demands.
Okay, not really 20 seconds. I'll wait a few days so that folks who know for sure that they exceeded the reduced limit when using the Add Attachment feature only can reduce their size to fit into the new limit. Again, media shared via 3rd party hosting is not counted against the forum's internal memory and does not need any adjusting. Unless it suck. You might want to adjust it to not suck, but that's up to you.
