This show I watch "Into the Badlands" has a sword that is used throughout a decent portion of the show. I am trying to find out if it is a type of sword, a combination of different types of swords, and if so what types. I like collecting weapons, especially various blades. I also like to train/practice with various blades such as pole arms, and sometimes swords. I love the way they both handle, and this sword looks like the perfect combination of the two. My speculation is that the sword is fictional, but made up off of different styles of blades, the style being a combination of a Scimitar (the blade), a 5 ring Chinese blade (typically they appear to have 9 rings though), and a Chinese cleaver/broadsword (the handle) If anyone can confirm, or disprove, or even provide any insight about anything to do with this weapon it would be greatly appreciated, I would really like to own something quite similar; if not identical.
- Thanks
This is the sword ----->
P.S. Anymore pictures for reference can be found by googling "Nathaniel Moon Sword".

The hilt and guard are as far as I'm aware 100% fantasy on a fighting weapon. The blade seems more kilij then scimitar, but it's basically straight. It has the chops to me of a typical modern Chinese fantasy piece.

I think the primary influence is Chinese dao. Cross between a dadao and a pudao?

Yeah, the blade is more similar to a chinese poleweapon blade than to a dadao sword. (or the fantasy project Goblin King Sword? (with the Goblin King's earrings??))

It's a modern take on the 9 ring Chinese broadsword it's supposedly made of obsidian however that is not the truth altho you can melt obsidian you do however need more of a factory or a lab to do so and the result with be of a blade that with not survive a hit hard enough to inflict harm
