Do you have a problem with me voicing my opinion here Edelweiss ? But you know what, I just picked this up for $58, look kind of like the Orc King so I guess it wasn't an original design after all. A few notches in the top of the blade which is 1065 carbon steel, remove the hard rubber handle and install a wood one. Orc King II. Heck I might even go with a antler handle and it's not going to take me 6 to 8 weeks to do it and nowhere close to $200 more. I don't know that I would use a Honshu for a project blade (at least not without knowing for certain what the tang looks like). Their Boshin swords look like they are full-tang, but in reality they are a nub badly welded to a frame the scales are attached to.

Now c'mon, just making the stupid thing full tang is FOR SURE easier than fitting and welding a tang to scales.

You would think wouldn't you. Well we shall see when I take the handle off the Honshu War Sword. Well here it is, full tang 3/16 inch thick and no welds. Very well put together, was hard taking it apart. Real sharp too, it's already drawn blood, mine. Will do a thread when I finish rebuilding it. Hope to find an antler for the handle, if not just wood. I'm thinking about buying another one and leaving it stock. Nothing wrong with having a badass looking machete.

I didn't order them or have a desire to buy them because I'm just a broke college student with a week left in a machinist course, no money for swords here.

Does being a Legionnaire automatically make you Lawful Good and therefore better than anyone else?! Preposterous! Jokes aside, this is a beautiful sword. if I wasn't a struggling college student I'll probably get one as a display piece to put above the TV or fireplace. Always loved the scabbard as well. Now how do I display it while keeping it safe from kids....or immature teenagers? Oh and welcome back. Thought you left the forum for good lol.

"Does being a Legionnaire automatically make you Lawful Good and therefore better than anyone else?" Well... yeah. Pretty much. I mean I've never met a Lawful Good who looked at the motivations of another alignment and thought: Hmm, am I in the right here? And I tend not to leave forums for good. I just signed up for the fantasy comp and there hasn't been a post in that thread since August 2017, so I figured it was dead or something. Now I have reason to continue checking up on the progress of that sword I want. =)

I mean I've never met a Lawful Good who looked at the motivations of another alignment and thought: Hmm, am I in the right here? Well, careful not to veer into the territory of Stupid Good or Lawful Stupid. Wouldn't want to see your crusade end short when you stab too many people that your magic radar tells you is evil and you end up being branded a murderer lol. Wait a minute, if something like that happens, would the Lawful Good character remain Lawful Good in the eyes of everyone, or a sociopath? Wouldn't breaking laws, be that of humans or gods, be against the philosophy of the Lawful Good? Or perhaps, what if the actions of the Lawful Good end up bringing more harm to more people rather than actual tangible good? Or breaking the laws and/or moral values of a another nation/religion? Wouldn't that be counter-productive? Would a Lawful Good character consider the final result if there isn't an impartial arbiter? Or would they ceaselessly act according to what they believe in, without ever considering the drives and motivations of another yet constantly judging others by their own values and standards*? How would a Lawful Good character justify murder if they couldn't, or wouldn't, put themselves in another person's shoes? *Sounds like Ethnocentrism to me ;p I've actually been really curious about this. Grouping a person's behavior into a set of standards and categories sometimes just doesn't make sense to me. Gameplay wise in a Tabletop RPG, this makes things easy, but in a story? where we often emulate realistic human behavior in the characters present? Sometimes this 'alignment' thing just isn't enough to justify certain behaviors. I mean, if a poor kid steals an apple that means the town guards have the right to put an arrow in his brain or send him to the noose, since he's not Lawful Good, right? (thankfully we have laws to prevent such an event from happening, but if we're talking alignments by itself...) Still, glad you like the sword designs. Anything else other than the Gladius caught your eye?

If you want a dissertation on the nature and diversity of Lawful Good (and other D&D alignments), read the ever excellent Order of the Stick.

(thankfully we have laws to prevent such an event from happening, but if we're talking alignments by itself...) Still, glad you like the sword designs. Anything else other than the Gladius caught your eye? In DnD terms alignment has nothing to do with ethics, and honestly the alignment system doesn't handle complex ethical issues period. If the Lawful Good god dictates that the Ork nation is Evil and by law all Orks and Ork sympathizers must be put to death, then bathing myself in the blood of Orkish Children and burning down settlements in the name of The Watcher in Blue will make me more Lawful Good. If the law goes "He who kills a believer in Mordant has committed a sin." then gameplay-wise I can kill anyone who isn't without an alignment change. I may be drenched in terror and death, but if my actions are not as-written sins against the Lawful Good Gods then they don't count as far as my Paladin Powers go. Heh. Heh heh. MUAHAH HA HA HA!!! TLDR: Yes. You can be a Lawful Good Psychotic Hammerite. All you need is the right god. Why is this? Because of the gods themselves. The fantasy gods are a diverse bunch who all like different stuff. You aren't going to find an overGod with a blanket "Thou shalt not kill." commandment, you'd rather find several different gods with commandments like "It is a great trespass to kill a believer in Mordin, and the punishment is death.", or "It is against the will of Iasha to lay low the trees of the forest.". With highly specific commandments the Lawful Gods can be rules-lawyered. Killing unbelievers in Mordin is fine. Cutting down a tree in the desert is also fine. This is because fantasy gods are not impartial or all-loving, and they have specific and distinct needs and desires. Mordin likes dwarves more than men. Iasha likes elves more than orks. Baphomet might have some laws that apply to demons and some that apply to hobbits. They're gods, not God. They didn't make you, they need your worship to survive, and they don't give a fig about you if you are actively supporting another god. The alignment system just co-ops ethical terms to tell you which gods you're most likely to be supporting with your natural actions. If I actually have a holy book of "Da Rules", then I can tailor my Alignment with specific actions. And I do. Edit: Though I think I actually had a talk with Admin about the Swordverse gods. Paragon is closer to all-loving intent-of-the-heart type classic God so he might still take issue with things like Jihadisades being done in his name. Without the proper paperwork of course. And yeah. The Forge Direct stuff is all Grade A+ NOICE.

Thanks! My prototype should arrive this week. I'm excited to see it. My understanding is that this was part of an additional bonus round selection. More thoughts and pics to come after I've had it in hand.
