Okay, so I just received my first bowie from L Driggers. I can't seem to put it down, or stop grinning while holding it. I don't have many damascus blades, and the other ones I do own are pretty subtle. Not this one. It is quite bold. I suspect that historical bowies were not pattern welded, so this may be a bit of an anachronism. There is a legend that James Black included meteoric iron in his crucible steel when crafting the prototypical knife of American myth. So, metallurgical experimentation is part of the folklore. Still not damascus, I know. Regardless, my new knife is quite the deft fighter, and I like it a lot. The stats on this baby: 432 layer damascus 1095/15n20 steel overall length: 20" blade length: 14 3/8" 3/16" thick hidden tang with walnut grips brass guard weight: 1lb 5oz I've read through this thread a few times over the years, admiring y'all's awesome bowies. It's nice to join the fun. Cheers

My next piece from Wes Beem of Lonely Wolf Forge, this piece is 3/16" thick so it's more a sleek, faster design but all the blade dimensions are identical to other one otherwise. I also had my buddy Dave Smith of Buffy Leather make me another sheath, this time in black. A real dandy. Looks like a slimmer CS Natchez in blade shape.

Fierce beauties. That red sheath looks great.

Seeing it in motion is even better than still pictures

Most probably the most intriguing modern Bowies I ever saw, Brother, especially the horn-handled. Super duper nice. Cool thing you show them on video, too.
I guess the horn-handled is a bit lighter with that shorter guard and less blade thickness, which should play out well regarding handling?

Oh, stag, of course and what a beautiful piece it is. Also the shaped seems perfect and fits your hand well. Such a lovely bowie.

Gulzar Ahmed Hell’s Belle replica. Had this one for a few months. Tested it quite a bit. Unlike any other Ursa before, I had to fix the edge bevels on this one. Tough knife with great handling, a full-force fighting bowie. Hello Markus, I'm also thinking about ordering one of these. But seeing your pics of the dismounted blade I'm a little bit confused about the handle construction. How is the handle fixed to the tang? Just glued? Best regards, Thomas

I am not sure. But yes, I would think it is just glued in. It held up well through my testing. I have some knives which tangs are held in the handle by glue only, and they hold up just fine to heavy usage.

Do you perhaps also have their Moore-Bowie in your collection? www.facebook.com/607963502883903/photos/a.1098522987161283/1098522937161288/
