Kingdom of Arms Musso bowie. Got it 06.04th. Very nice bowies, Szabla. Between the Ursa Musso and the Kingdom of Arms, which do you like better? Thank you Marcus. Two different approaches to replicate Musso. Both bowies are nice (besides particular knife imperfections). To answer shortly I prefer Ursa. Maybe later I gonna explain. As for now: today is little-things-bothering-much day for me. Got bowie from Blade Culture International. I like the knife design and I wanna it in my collection but "specimen" I received has (to many in my opinion) blemishes. For the price unacceptable. I sent email with exchange request. Waiting for an answer. Then TFW Bicuco sent May 27th from Kult of Athena still didn't arrive. I cant track where is it now...I wll write something later.

Today unexpectedly (one day earlier the estimated.delivery time) I got two bowies. Scagel style bowie. This knife atracted my attention some time ego. I googled it. Read whatever I found online about Scagel "brand" and I gave up. Out off extreme bordom several days ago I gooled it agine and I found out that all nice wood handle ones are gone. So I tought before those with micarta handle disappear too me gonna git me one. . This Scagel bowie was made by (I think) Brak River Knives from A2 steel. 9.5 inch long blade has satin finish. Blade width at widest point is around 1.875 of an inch. Thickness at the guard is .25". POB around 1.25" from guard. Blade is sharp enough to cut skin on clumsy finger with just touch. Full convex grind to the very end of edge. Guard and pommel are made from aluminum. Hidden tang. Micarta handle with good looking spacers. Handle ergonomics for me great. Handle- 1" width at widest point. Bark River sheaths are very good quality.

I did personaszablation on Scagel bowie. Sheath natural bee wax. Applied hot. Rubbed. I washed blade with my brown patina solution. Then I polished the blade with paste I made from red polishing compound with Mothers polish. After polishing.

Second bowie I got yesterday Described as Bark River Knives custom 1909 Michigan bowie. There is bunch different looking 1909 Michigan bowies for sell online. I never had Bark River knife and I'm in bowie mood so whatever. Now i have one. And custom hehehe kurna custom. I wanted clip point. Hard to get online now in this style. Only one I found was drop point. One day drop point may be carefully grind into clip point...in other hand clip point can't be carefully. I like the knife. Well made. Nice satin finish. Handle described as "moran handle". I guess it is made in Bill Moran style. Very comfortable to grip. Bocote wood. Beautiful. Brass guard. 10" drop point blade made from A2 steel. Full convex grind. Satin finish. Given hardness 58-59 HRC. .25" thick at back. 1.66 width at widest point. POB ~2" for the guard. The sheath is amazing. I did hot bee wax treatment on sheath. Brown patined blade. Polished after.

Wonderful, beautiful knives. And I love what you do to them. Thanks for sharing the pictures and your thoughts on the Ursa vs. Kingdom of Arms Musso, Szabla. I used to own an Ursa Musso (“aged” version) – felt good in the hands and moved very well for such a big and heavy blade.

Yes Marcus Bark River bowies are ok. Couple days ago I got two d guard bowies. I bought these for the size, shape and... d gaurd. I never cared about knives with D gaurd, never had one. The knife: The blade 1095 steel. Well...whatever. Seems to be hardened. I acid washed one blade. Based on how steel reacted on ferric chloride solusion it looked to me more like 5160 steel then 1095. The blade is rigit. Uneven convex-ish grind. Needs to be redone some time in the future. It is 14.125" long. Width 2.125" . Thickness .187" Damascus steel d gaurd. It is folded steel. Folds can be seen on saw off material. I saw off back of "d" tail. Folded steel is hard. I was not able to cutt of "nutty" pommel with same saw blade. That hard. Well blade was cheap too. This "pommel" nut poke my esthetic nerve and my hand so must go out for sure. Handle wood looks like briar burl. Im not wood expert so it is what it is and looks nice. Original handle is huge. Kinda wast of nice wood. Wood is fuhing hard. It took time and sweat to file new shape. After I finished working on handle my phone sensor did not recognized my fingertips. That hard them wood was. To continue with the project I need new saw blades and hammer. I didnt try unscrew ornamental nut. I dont have any equipment at my current place. Exept cheap saw haha. I gonna end this post with some pictures. Speaking and writing, for me, is harder then guard damascus steel and handel wood together. I forgot to write that so far I like this blades but I would not recommend to buy these. This bowie is good only for project in my most humble opinion. O santcta simplicitas!!!

Pgandy, thank you. For now I don't plan to get more bowies. I would consider to buy 9" blade Blackjack 14-9 Halo Attack but these are gone. Only model 14-7 is available, 7 1/2" blade.

D- guard bowies project is finished. Instead of buying saw blades I decided to get cheap angle grinder from Harbor Freight. I got cheap heat gun also for next project. Nutmmels are gone. "D"s are clipped. Now I'm happy with double sudoku-do big knives lol. There is etched D GUARD BOWIE thing on the blade. When I was making pictures I set up knives the way this silly thing was hidden but I gonna make one picture with these super extraordinary feature. Very important. Very important.

Who did your Musso bowies Markus? They look fantastic. Thank you, Eric. The aged ones are from Ursacraftsman1 on ebay (highly recommended!!!), and they are indeed very nice. The other two brass backs are from Windlass (Primitive bowie) and Anglo Arms “Expendables”. Both real nice for the price they go for, really nice for the price. No match to the Ursa, though.
