Naw man I hope to be around at least a bit longer. Yup...I saw your other post of things purchased and things waiting for. Talk about a pipeline to Santa and the North Pole! And holy cow regarding the CS Espada. Speechless.

Busse makes nice stuff for sure. But wouldn't all of those fullers a long with that more thick, textured coating create a lot more friction on cutting or chopping? Here's a discussion about Busse's (patent pending) Corrugated Bevel Technology and if they're "cut out to be what is claimed" (pun intended) on Bladeforums... some people seem to like it, I only like it on certain blades. www.bladeforums.com/threads/cbt.1600870/#post-18282007

those look great; ive seen those pop up amongst the other pakistan forged stuff, and was curious nice to know theyre legit stuff. the pictures looked good but you never know until it's in the hand additionally; i really like the plain butcher knife look for bowies. very plain sort of elegance to it This is so true. These are fine stuff, though, as far as I can tell. There have been nothing but positive reviews on this maker, and I can only agree. These are so nice I’ve just ordered an aged Musso Bowie. I also contacted Mr. Gulzar Ahmed to ask for a custom order. Will keep you updated. ah; if the clifft bowie is minimalist, the musso is the maximalist take. i am sure it will be a fine short sword
looking forward to the custom order as well. nice to know when an ebay seller is quality

Got the Musso today. The thing is da bomb. I literally can’t say too much good things about it. Despite the weight, which is pleasantly lower than expected, it moves well and feels good, powerful and responsive. Handle fits my hands very well. All fit and finish is excellent. Everything is straight, tight and solid, very harmonic, excellently executed. The blade is as sharp as the Forrest bowie – no problems push cutting 80 g copy along the whole length of the blade. Very sharp. The knife came with a nice, well-made leather sheath. An impressive, beautiful and capable weapon.
Once again, I’m thoroughly impressed by Ursa’s work, and also with the transaction. Communication was clear, friendly and straight-forward, shipping super quick and perfectly packaged. Best rates in all aspects. I’m totally satisfied and recommend this seller highly.

For the stats sheet, I measured the Musso’s thickness right behind the ricasso, at height of the start of the edge, without the back strap. It has little taper until the start of the swedge, and then tapers down to 1,74 mm at 10 mm before the tip. The Forrest bowie and Windlass have more meaty points.
Spines and points: Ursa Forrest above, Ursa Musso, Windlass Horn Handled Bowie at bottom...

The definition of "dangerous curves". Would ya look at how pointy that claw is for such a big 14" meaty blade? Looks like you could rip a hole in space time with a back cut flick.

That is an eye stopper. I’d like one but I think customs would give me a hard taking the fun out of it.

Not my favorite style, but I can certainly respect this one. Very nice knife.

Hmm, I dunno. Just not really feeling this one. Nothing against it, but don't know if I'd buy one, even knowing how good it is.

that's a lovely musso; it has the sinuous, organic curvature that makes the design so charming
it's like a swashbuckler's weapon; it feels like it should be tacky
but it's excellently designed to an extreme

I was just back admiring that thing again. I love the curvature of the blade. I bought main bowie because it was one of the few that I could find with a curved cutting edge. I may have to break down and come up with the cash and sufficient determination to fight the system and buy one of those. That thing turns me on. When you measured the blade thickness did you include the brass? And would the brass be easy to remove? It does appear like it may have an adverse affect on cutting in some cases. What is your thoughts on this?

What is your thoughts on this? It‘s a beauty for sure, hard to capture through pictures. I the hand it feels like an agile saber. It doesn’t have the length and momentum, of course, but for a knife it’ll cut terrifically.
In my first measurements, I didn’t include the brass. Now after reading your post, I measured the brass back again and it’s 9 mm at the thickest point. Taking the broadness of the blade into account, I don’t think it’ll hinder cutting, especially when looking at “realistic” targets. The brass adds some useful heft to the blade imo and seems to be fastened very securely, using four subtle, smoothened pins and I suspect some epoxy below. Probably removable, yes. You can guess I like this knife as is, quite a lot even.
OTOH, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ursa would be happy to make a custom order without a brass back (or other modifications, after all he takes suggestions for entirely new designs), and probably for a very fair price, too.

Thanks. I have nothing against the appearance of the brass and am sure the weight was taken into consideration when designing the portions of the knife. Actually I think it adds something to the character. My concern was the brass edge snagging on some objects during some cuts.
