As per the title of this thread: With a war hammer to the noggin. You ain't getting up easily from that. Sorry for the prolonged answer, but I felt this needed some closure. Yep - that or a club, mace, axe, pick, etc., etc.....

I personally think the war hammer is an absolutely terrifying battlefield weapon. I only own one--the Windlass English model--and it's fairly small, but I can see it doing horrible damage. An unarmored, or lightly armored enemy is done for with one well placed blow...especially the pick-end.

I agree: I think that would be on my list of weapons to pick if I ever get transported through time to the Medieval era. Especially the ones with a spike on the top - those add an entirely new area of attacks.
