Nice review Skallagrim. That spatha looks like a joy to own and wield. Congratz on being lucky enough to win the auction. I've been lucky enough to find two 1st gen Albions on the 2nd hand market and I second your assessment. They are almost as good as the next gen sword for usually somewhere around half the price. They are an outstanding buy... but maybe we should keep that a secret?

BEAUTIFUL piece and an excellent review ! I do love short swords - Greek, Celtic, Roman , LOTR $465.00 Some people have all the good luck. I've always fallen into the " if I just bid a little more " trap and end up with a very expensive, expensive object. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful sword mate, regardless of what generation it is, Albion reign supreme, I hope to one day get something from these guys one day. Great review and some nice cutting, I like the movements you are going through before you make the cut. Keep it up

Oh yeah, that is a nice Spatha...! And another excellent review.
As you all know, unless arrangements are made before hand, discontinued swords and those above the US$300 price point do not automatically get review points. However, Skallagrim and I talked about it before hand and I did state to him that I was looking for a few more Albion reviews to round things out with our SBG knowledge base - and this review will almost certainly come across to the main site on the ancient swords page.
So with this in mind, that's another 30 well deserved review points - bringing you to a total of 90! ;D
You are only 10 off before you have enough points to qualify for serious consideration, and I can tell you now that there are still at least 2-3 open slots on the review team and that you have proven you have what it takes. So you can either wait for me to bring it across to SBG to get the 10 points or submit one more review to get in early.
But no matter which way you choose, I think we are about to welcome our newest member to the review team! ;D

I sure agree with you there, I'm not much of a patriot myself (I'm not even Norwegian myself lol). I just like knowing that there are other people here with the same interests as myself (and not that far away either) Everyone I know thinks I'm weird for playing with swords ^^

Great review, Skallagrim. I like the look of that one. Thanks for the shot of the peen. I been wondering about the hilt construction on Albion's Roman blades. I'm sure this means the next gen line are peened also. +1

Great review on Spatha .Your reviews are alway informative and entertaining. Norway should have lot of sword enthusiasts 'cause that where the Viking come from didn't they ? I like Skallagrim's view point on nationality just like John lennon's song
