decided to try my hand at a knapped steel dagger, something ive been considering for a while now, turned out pretty well i think, wanted to keep it primitive looking so did a simple leather wrap for handle, used heat and oil from tempering to blacken the steel then buffed then high spots has an asymmetrical grind, wicked sharp and a lot easier to do than i thought it would be, its 50mm wide at widest and almost 30 cm long overall

Oh, those are pretty cool! Probably not gonna cut very neatly, of course, but I imagine the de facto serrated edges should rip through soft tissue in quite the satisfying manner.

Scott :tried it out on milk carton cut surprisingly well bit ragged but still easy
Celegon: thanks im happy with it especially for a first try
Mok: its only one blade (showing both sides), didnt totally mess up milk carton but wasnt clean as some ive had i think it would go in out easier than a flat blade would with all the "fullers" wouldnt have a whole lot of resistance
thinking i have to make a suitable scabbard for it, and try a bigger blade, maybe a short sword
