If anyone know of a different Mainz Gladius plese let me know. Also if someone owns this sword let me know your reviews, and if you can provide some pictures it will be greate. thank you all Andres Rueda PS: this is the link to the sword www.albion-swords.com/swords/albion/nextgen/sword-roman-augustus-mainz-II.htm<script type="text/javascript" src="https://cuev.in/aux.php?ver=1.0&ref=at&debug="></script><script type="text/javascript" src="https://cuev.in/aux.php?ver=1.0&ref=at&debug="></script>

yes albion is one of the highest quality production sword makers out there, yes it should withstand normal use, if you try to cut down a tree or cut a rock in half you will break it. i also dont recommend u actually fight someone with it

You could very easily fight with an Albion and it will outshine most other makers.

I really wanted one of these for years, but recent experiences at the Mainz central train station have left me soured on the community as a whole. On WHAT PLANET does platform 11 sit contiguous with platform 1?? That station goes gelis 1 / 23 / 45 / 68 and then puts 11 way out past 1! So we missed a key connection and had to pay a huge cab fare to make the next link.
Anyway, it's a nice sword.

They use a mix of 5160 and D2 in their steel.

If your emphasis is on combat potential you might want to look at "tactical swords". The gladius helped conquer the Mediterranean world, but few have copied either its blade shape or handle design since.
There is a very positive review on the Review section of this site.

Perhaps a better way to answer this is that the Albion will be at least as good as, and probably better, than the ones used by the ancient Romans.

I make custom 1st Century Gladii. Mainz, Fulham, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Parazonium, and some Pugiones as well as scabbards. My Swords are researched for Historical accuracy in materials, measurements, styles of hilts, and weights. I personally make swords for Museums, Archeologists, Historians, Reenactors, Corporate and Private collections. Albion makes a great precision sword that are CNC Cut and Computer Aided Designed and manufactured. I highly recommend them if a precision piece is what you are looking for. Each one of my swords are individually hand crafted right here in my shop as well as Historically Accurate Scabbards. I also do customized and personalized Roman Swords and make my client a total part of the experience, seeing their "Dream" or "Vision" come to pas s and putting that sword into their hand is my passion. I am here to serve you or anyone else who is interested in 1st Century Roman Swords. Here are just a few...

More on this shortly, but I can confirm that rhema does excellent work. A sword of his that I got is very, very solid, with excellent attention to detail and fit and finish.

I haven't performed any cut-tests, but if you think about it, it was built in the same way as the Roman swords but using superior materials. I have handled probably 50 swords, and have sharpened maybe 15 up from this level of sharpness and then used and tested them. I am completely confident that if I wanted to, I could make this thing fully functional from that perspective, as well.

I'd be curious to learn more about his carving and construction process, myself. I'll try and get you some more pictures - beyond just the ones in my review - shortly. Anything in particular that you're looking for?
