I am... well not speechless, but surprised indeed, I will echo the question, what it is?
Wouldn't the jigsaw holed mune compromise the sword's integrity?

Oh c'mon, what's the name, who made it? We all know it's a fangshi mounted (Han style) liuyedao with piandao curvature and a tactical sawback.

Looking forward to hearing your impressions. Very unique style of blade. (Also, after visiting the link, wish someone on Ebay would be cheeky enough to call themselves "Bad Katana" as a store name)

They've got the usual immense pile of mixed merchandise characteristic of a Chinese third-party catalog retailer, so don't expect much help if anything goes wrong. Judging by the range of goods offered, they aren't sword pros of any description. BTW, I've found a new pointy-ended vice to throw money at, which does not come from China (or Japan). I'm currently waiting for this nifty pigsticker (already on its way to the US) to arrive from Bali-artshop.com, whose internet shop-window I've left nose-prints on for years.

This is not the first sword i bought from them; thanx for your... opinion. I am fine. I had my bunch of experiences with chinese ebay-vendors, and the count is around 11 OK or good swords to 1 lemon!

The steel's hue makes it look all the more wicked

The steel's hue makes it look all the more wicked Yeah, it's here now. Looks better than its photos. Wicked as sin, too. Real kerises with very old blades like this one have sharp jagged edges like broken glass from how the Indonesians washing them in a corrosive mixture of arsenic ore and lime juice acts on the laminated steel. Paradoxically, the etchant forms a black layer that preserves them as well, this one's probably 400 to 500 years old. It'll stab and cut up a pool noodle like crazy, BTW. Nice extra sidearm to go with a katana. From what Holg is saying, I'm wondering if the change in regs in China has done much more than shut down some small fry.

This particular piece sounds more interesting by the minute, I'll have to look into these more. I think the main effect of the regulations was mostly with factories who put out too much pollution, if a business is smart about how the fittings and blades are made then it probably was in the clear more quickly than if it was a bit more liberal in its production and disposal of hazardous materials. The part that's more worrisome is the shipping situation; it can't just be an issue with China, as other nations like the U.K. are being pretty asinine with how they're treating sword imports. Hopefully that all changes soon.

Latest order from China, for my Lady; ordered just 12 days ago via Aliexpress - not even Ebay, not even Paypal... and everything went just straight and fine, no problems. And so is the sword: for 140 Euros shipped - just flawless. It sings, it springs back, its good sharp, no bents, no warps... getting back after some cutting later this year!

I've seen that sword a few times but everyone keeps bullying China. People are just twerps who only know how to ridicule

Hmm, probably 90+% of the swords shown on the forum are made in China.

90% China, 10% India and 5% Canada! Canada? Who is forging swords in Canada? I heard rumours about a company which ASSEMBLES china- and india-made blades with screw-on pommels and crumbling wooden grips over tiny tangs... ya know... some whispering... in the dark... behind the walls...
