Hi so I'm in a black crusade game (For those who don't know. Space inquisition and I'm a heretic) and my characters life goal is to make a sword from the blood of my enemies. How many people would I need for let's say a smallsword. Is there any way to increase the quality of the blade? Anything I should know about this?

This is VERY interesting.... Considering my one-sided knowledge of only what IS IN BLOOD, you might actually be able to do so provided that you have enough quantities to be able to source enough iron from.

Ok seriously, I just have the calculations and ideas for what you could THEORETICALLY do if this was real life. But we are seriously NOT having a discussion for real life. That said...
It really all depends on the game. If it sticks close to science and facts, probably an average 1000 people would do. You could kill a few dragons, and other mythical creatures for greater volume and added bad-a**ery...

Oh? If this thread is bad mods then I'm sorry I'll take it down. I didn't think someone would think this is real life. This is a table top game set in the warhammer 40k universe and I do not condone murderer hundreds of people to make a sword from their blood.

A human body contains ca. 4 - 5 g iron.

4-5? I found 3-4 online. If 4-5 is true then my body count can be even lower!

Count me out as a contributor. I’ll tell you right up front over the years all the iron in my blood has precipitated out to being lead in my $emprini. Advise if you need help in collecting from other sources as I have sword and will travel.

XD Sadly I won't be making a real blood sword. It's for a game like Dungeons and Dragons.

Actually the iron is distributed over the body, in muscles, organs etc. Strictly speaking you won’t get much out of JUST blood. You could target organs too (if you know some way of easily harvesting the iron. Considering you are an evil mage, you can just Magneto it out of them, much lesser mess)

Lesser mess...lesser messier...langes messer!
You could make a Langes Messer out of it. Would require lesser iron than, say, a longsword and would be just that much awesome.

Wikipedia says 4 - 5 g for a 70 kg man. Mail, plate, weapons not counted.

This is a very silly post, don't think you could really do it.
