When I first designed Tengu for Longship Armoury LLC to make, I wanted it to be as lightweight as possible for its length, but retaining tip cutting power. The plan was to have a sword that I could carry as long as I want without tiring myself out, and still able to repel multiple invaders with a single handed, hand on pommel, longest reaching strike. This strike was designed to threaten multiple opponents, after all.
I put this theory to test today and try to see what this strike, with this sword, could do to 2 rolls of upper arm thickness targets.
The first cut went through 8 chopsticks in total, with 4 in each roll! I guess my theory works. :D Thanks Longship Armoury, James Fang and John Lundemo for realizing my plan.

Another Lancelot design that performs superbly. To be sure, a lot of it is the swordsman but your old DS design was a fearsome cutter even in bad hands like mine.

You went through like cutting air. Hhahaha indeed. I was expecting possible failure originally, not like this. :D Thanks for watching!

People might not buy the Tengu but might just get tickets to HK to train with you! :P BTW, your target of paper with chopstick cores... how badly do they blunt the edge?

Training with me is fine! :D Not very bad. If you are not using my kind of sharpness, I doubt that you'll notice any blunting after the test cut.

Many people seem to ignore the possibility to choke up or down on a long grip - there's definitely good reasons for adjusting your grip on a sword with one or two hands. This shows that pretty succinctly. Very nice cut by the way, I don't have the best time with straight horizontals yet, myself.

This shows that pretty succinctly. Very nice cut by the way, I don't have the best time with straight horizontals yet, myself. Thanks for bringing up that point. Since I'm mainly a swordsman who test cut to verify my sparring techniques, many of my cuts were not aim to be flashy or look very "standard". For this single-handed-on-pommel strike, it was to be the longest reaching, creating a safe zone, while powerful enough to effectively disable opponent(s). The original design wasn't to be used at this height, but cutting legs. :P So the strike would be hard to defend against, most probably just evaded by backing off, thus keeping the enemies at bay.

Longship Armoury 3V No Remorse used in this single handed on pommel strike against 2 separated targets. The targets were set farther apart and bigger than the last practice.

Not every student managed to pull this off:
Dung managed it.
Yau didn't.
