I'd seen the arming sword a couple of times before, but this is the first time I had seen Sonny post THIS. Now that's interesting. It looks like the old ATrim leafblades that are still floating around. (In fact, these pictures almost certainly ARE... since they were taken by an older camera, and there is a LOT of custom detailing on this piece. I also HIGHLY doubt that half-wire-wrap or gondorian tree comes standard. ) It's pricey though, if you read the description, the listed price is a down payment of around half the price. At this point, I wonder if he's getting the blades through his regular channels to Gus' specs (like he did with the Practical Longsword)... or if he's having Steven Lockwood do them. Maybe he found a stock of unfinished blades? Unlikely. I might wait a few weeks and see if he puts up more info on the page, and then maybe shoot him an email with more questions. I just thought it might be relevant to this section of the forum.

Very nice sword. Why does VA site say it's $1,195 for sword only, yet directly below that it says it's $600 with scabbard/belt/harness?

Very nice sword. Why does VA site say it's $1,195 for sword only, yet directly below that it says it's $600 with scabbard/belt/harness? Yeah. It was just posted a day or two ago as far as I can tell. I hope we get more info on this thing. This seems to be a situation of Sonny's website not being set up to the task of selling something without a scabbard/rigging. The 1195 is definitely the price though, with the 50% deposit. So many questions, so few answers.

Well, Gus did design the swords in the signature collection. Not sure if they're still being made to his specs. Given the price I suspect he's getting Steven Lockwood to do the blades. On his Facebook page Sonny asked recently for suggestions for swords to add to his line up, could be worth letting him know a leaf blade would be a good idea...
