Here is the poll for the Ronin Katana So Long and Thanks for all the Posts giveaway. Please peruse the thread and choose the submission that you liked the best. The voting will run from Sept. 1st to Sept. 7th. A winner will be announced once all the votes have been reviewed. Everyone gets one vote, and you cannot vote for yourself.
I am just a newb and I have just started learning about swords.. and my only interest in swords are katanas. I don't have much to say to impress anyone.. heck I don't even have a collection. but If you vote for me you can be sure that the sword I will win is going to a good home where it will be well appreciated and cared for. I will treat it as if it were a national treasure! It won't matter to me whether it's the first prize or second.. so long as it's a real functional katana. Please help a newb out and vote for me. Thank you in advance!
Vote for me and I'll bless your entire collection.
If it were a Papal blessing, I might just vote for you!
Seriously, best wishes to everyone who entered the contest. I've read most but not all of the posts. So, I'll probably save my vote for later in the holiday weekend after I've read and thought about it.
There are many inspiring tales here that pale mine in comparison, and that I stand envious of. Everyone taking part here is worthy of a win but alas, such is not the nature of competition.
The only reason I can give is that I possess no swords at all, even though I frequent this forum and shall keep doing so, even if only for the love of swords and ESPECIALLY knives. So, it might be that not only will a sword from here give me a start, but also head towards to the dream of having a high quality katana of mine own (not necessarily a Shinken). Plus, it will also allow me to test my country's system, so I can know if I can even get a sword in here.
But hey, this is a good-hearted beat 'em all!
May the best be the master of a new sword!!!

Honoring Chris' request, I'm not voting for myself. There are several members whose experiences mirror my own in one way or another and several that have traveled a different path. I have been fortunate enough not to have had to travel some of those paths. I voted for Blade Runner not just because of the path he traveled but also that he chose to expose that part of himself here.
Good Luck to everyone who entered and an extra ounce of good luck for those who had a tougher path to get where they are now.
