Just wanna show you my version of Longclaw. Blade: Custom made from 9260 steel by a Chinese forge Crossguard: Stainless Steel form VA Pommel: Cast from Brass Pound - That is a great looking blade. Can you provide details such as, which Chinese forge? How did you order the blade? Do they offer that blade or did you provide specs. and or drawings to them? What was the wait time and cost? etc.etc. I want that blade and cross guard combo. Who and how was the cross guard fitted to the blade? Where did the grip come from and how was it fitted to the tang? In other words, did you get the blade/tang built to certain specs and then find a cross guard and grip to match? Or did you order the blade to fit the cross guard and grip? Or some variation? I have searched for a wide, long blade shaped like yours, with a full length fuller with a cross guard shaped like yours, and can not find one after months of searching....and it's 9260 spring steel. Very cool. Tell us how to get one to. Thanks!

I have searched for a wide, long blade shaped like yours, with a full length fuller with a cross guard shaped like yours, and can not find one after months of searching....and it's 9260 spring steel. Very cool. Tell us how to get one to. Thanks! Well, it started with I wanted to run a sword store here in Thailand. So I searched for Chinese forge online, then I e-mailed them if I could visit them at the forge. It was the same forge that Chris and Paul of SBG filmed their Longquan sword factory tour. Then I ordered from them from time to time in wholesale. This is how I know them. As for the blade, I sent them a full-scale drawing with specification on the distal taper. I actually ordered the guard from VA before drawing anything though. So I could measure every necessary details before drawing the blade. The cost could get real cheap if I ordered at least 30 blades at the same time. But since I ordered only one of this model, I had to pay almost $200 for a single blade. The pommel was from the head of walking stick that I ordered from India via eBay. The original head was made from Aluminum but I wanted it in Brass, so I have it cast in brass at local foundry. After I got every parts with me, I began the assembly. It required some file works as I expected. It turned out to be better than I expected.

Pound - thanks for info. The blade is just incredible looking. Sounds like an SBG group buy project or a forum Vendor/Manufacturer section, "Sword Pound" group buy project?
