Forgive the cheap butted mail :p It's and old gift. One day I wish to complete a 13th century knight but,as of now this is what I have. Mens joggers for cheap hosen, the warriors gambeson from Epic Armory , get dressed for battle 13th century soldier boots and the Hanwei tinker arming sword. No forgiveness necessary! The kit looks great!

Look at KOA's Lord of Battles round riveted, solid flat ring darkened mail. That's what I'm wearing in my pics. It's good looking stuff for costume-grade armor. My haubergeon only weighs about 14-16 pounds (I don't have decent scales). That's pretty light for mail. It looks even better in real life...almost like black liquid on your body...really wicked. It's also *relatively* cheap for riveted.

Djinnobi---By the way, I've been meaning to ask you...is that a paintball/airsoft mask you are wearing in your photo? I've been looking at some of those lately. I was thinking of doing up a Star Wars-style 'Darth Chris' outfit for next Halloween. Is it possible, maybe with some mods, to wear glasses under one of those? The question has been asked on Amazon.com, where I've been looking, but the answers seem to be --yes--no--yes--no--yes--no. So? You think? Thanks.

Who knows. Mine came from “all best stuff” on eBay.

I bought a 'Bishop's Mantle' from 'SwordnAxe' on EbAY. It was 'no name' mail----matches my shirt and coif EXACTLY. It's all the same stuff, just different names.

Yeah that is my suspicion... much like the chinese Katana sellers. Many sellers, handful of actual forges. I am guessing this maille to be the same.

Forges??? Hell, I thought they had katana-making machines!?!? Just throw in some of whatever kind of steel, push the button, out spits a blade! (rofl) (rofl) (rofl) Nah.... in China if often IS cheaper to use manual labor than the cost of buying and maintaining a machine. They use belt grinders and such...

Lookin' good, V. I love that fine-meshed mail. If that's what I think it is--and it's welded--I bet that would stop an arrow in REAL LIFE. Awesome stuff!
